Forums - Sony - New LBP Video W/New Info

I have to hand it to Sony: they've got the entire Internet in a fervor about this title, without having released a single real gameplay trailer. Sort of reminds me of Lair...

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Oh, did they just mean those guys with the seesaw arms? Those didn't look very threatening... they seemed to be bumping into them and dragging them all over the place without any problem, except for when the one guy got crushed somehow. I figured they were just environmental obstacles.

Still, on closer inspection they seem to have some kind of little feet that move them around. Those might have some interesting uses in level building.

The hype for Lair was because of the graphics, the hype for LBP is because of the gameplay.

This game looks really interesting. But, like Viva Pinata on 360 I think it will get rave reviews but not do so well in sales.

It will definately have a cult following though.

I can agree...  The install base for PS3 will be probably about 13 million by then so that shouldn't be a problem.

But, like I said, reviews will be good but sales won't match.  I think people think it will sell 4 million lifetime.  In reality I think it may make 2 million.  Which is great, but not what will be expected from Sony.

The gameplay... that they haven't really shown yet?
