Crytek has announced that a respected developer is currently creating a Wii U game which utilises the company’s CryEngine 3. Crytek says that it will be showing the unannounced Wii U game soon. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli also revealed that Wii U handles CryEngine 3 beautifully.

“My opinion of the Wii U is very high. It’s just that we didn’t have a business case unfortunately that justifies us making a game for it.

“It doesn’t mean that CryEngine 3 doesn’t run on Wii U – it actually runs beautifully. In fact, there actually is a game in development from a respected developer that we will be announcing. I’ve seen the game running and it looks really great.”

He also mentioned that he doesn't understand why many people are worried the Wii U is less powerful than the 360/ps3, as the Wii U is at "minimum" as powerful as them.

Graphics power will not decide the winner of next generation, it sure as hell didn't decide it this generation.

Well even though im always more concerned about gameplay over graphics. Its nice to know WiiU might get a game with high levels graphics from the engine.

I hate that Cevat Yerli is talking so disrespectfully about the Wii U. That he explicitly goes out there to "convince" us that the Wii U is "minimum on par with PS360" and that CryEngine 3 runs beatifully on it, as if the common opinion was that Wii U is subpar hardware.

I don't know the name of the psychological or rethorical trick that is at play (purposely diminishing someone perhaps) but it's like you cynically paint someone in a corner so that he can't express himself from a neutral point of view.
