Lumia 800 is a pretty good phone. Give it a shot.
Yay!!!
@Wh1p
I had an interest in getting a win 7phone, but the lack of games kept me away. Things might change with winphone8 though, well see. I only went with an iPhone for the games.
Didn't 'they also announce that all win7 phones won't be able to upgrade to 8? I think those are getting 7.8 olr something. If I went with a win7 phone I would have been pretty disappointed.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

iPhone has tons of games, and higher resolution screen. Bigger screen will put more strain on your eyes during longer sessions, same for mobile gaming or console.
I don't know, don't listen to us, just get whatever you see yourself using the most or having the most fun with
Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.
Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
I hope your happy with the iPhone! Possibly the best out there.
(For more than one reason.)

Yeah exactly. Now is not a good time to get a W7P because W8P are at the most a little over a year away from releasing and W7P won't be able to fully upgrade to W8P due to hardware restrictions.
Between an iPhone and S3 I would have picked the S3 but the iPhone is also a very good option as well (It's really boils down to preference between those two phones). And as you said gaming was one of your main focuses, the iPhone was a very good pick due to the absolute plethora of great game titles they have.
GS3
Games are also on Android an after the i/o event next week Google will showcase their big expansion in games. Personally, I never have an issue finding games on my phone... and they are mostly free with ads or same price as iOS without ads. So it gives you choice.
Choice is the whole point behind Android. Choice in phone and features and cost.
OR if you really want iPhone. The iPhone5 coming in a couple months or sooner will have a 4" or larger screen. Already confirmed from many sources. (additionally at that time iPhone4S prices will drop by at least $100 for new and a lot more used)

Anyways, I know I can get a Galaxy Nexus out of contract from Google for $400, but the S3 is actually pretty well priced at $200 at launch, which to me was very surprising. Plus my job has some kind of deal with ADP who has some kind of deal with AT&T and Verizon, it ends up allowing me so shave 8% off my monthly bill with AT&T. I kind of like the style of the windows phones, but it is just so lacking in the software department and I regularly game on my phones, which is the only reason why I even considering an iPhone, even with it's little screen. So many of the titles that I want, like the new Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary game, is only Android/iPhone. That is a big turn off for me sadly.
It's tough, but you are right in that Samsung phones are really nice devices. |
You can also get a GNex from Ebay for ~200 to 300. No reason to be forced into a *new* phone. Not really a difference so long as its in great condition.
EDIT I absolutely LOVE my GNex. Best phone ever. Didnt' even root or rom it. Its perfect stock.
Just realized the date on the thread. >:(
In that case, sell the iphone for >$400 on ebay and buy a Galaxy Nexus for ~$220. Pocket the rest and be happy.

The iPhone is perfect no need for the GS3 if it's available.

Its perfect if you want Apple to make all your decisions and pay the highest price.
Personally, I like to pick and choose better products including how much I'm willing to pay for them. Additionally, its far from perfect as a device in any way imaginable.
