Since Superhero fever is at full blast right now due to The Avengers and the coming Amazing Spidey & then the biggest storm of all, Dark Knight Rises lets talk about superhero film music!
Here are my top 10 Superhero theme tunes:
5. Nolan's Batman Theme (2005) -- Nolan & Zimmer have both stated that their Batman doesn't have a "theme" as such but this piece of music is common in the trilogy & I feel almost acts like a theme for the character. It's a very good piece of music...nowhere near as good as Elfmans Batman theme though...

4. Batman Forever Theme (1995) -- If something good came out of the Schumacher Batmans it was the music. While Elliot Goldenthal didn't do as great a job as Elfman it was still great. Epic, heroic and a bit sombre just where it needed to be!

3. Spider-Man Theme (2002) -- A Danny Elfman masterpiece. I think this is a very powerful & emotional tune...the main theme part is also weaved into many parts of the soundtrack & whenever it plays in the movies it sends a shiver down my spine.

2. Superman Theme (1978) -- Possibly the most recognisable theme among all of them...and why wouldn't it be JOHN WILLIAMS made it...only a year after making the most defining theme tune EVER (Star Wars)! It's uplifting, cheery & epic! I think oversaturation of it has probably led to it not being number 1 on this list. Hopefully Superman will be relevant once again with next years reboot.

And numberrrrr oneeeee
1. Batman Theme (1989) -- Burtons Batmans used this theme. What an epic theme it was..one of Danny Elfmans first breakout scores.
