Forums - Microsoft - Kinect: A Broken Promise

Do you still play Kinect?

Yes 71 33.18%

No 143 66.82%

Total:214

Its sad that a LIE like Kinect could sell that much.

Microsoft promised Games where i can play stuff like Uncharted,Gears etc without any flaw and completely fluid.

There is NOTHING like that on the Kinect and will never be.
But still people fell for the lies and somehow made this piece of junk the best selling thing in that one category.
This is just sad - The move actually has at least one game where it is working without any flaw > Killzone 3
But in general - Kinect and Move are garbage, but at least the Move got what it deserved.Kinect on the other side gets praised for Sesame Street,Star Wars Kinect(THE ULTIMATE DESTROYER of ALL Games as Microsoft promised at E3 1 or 2 years ago) and so on.

The only good things that were ever done with Kinect were developed by bored PC Gamers that used that stuff for other games.
And even there the Hardware itself is garbage and will soon be replaced by Leap.

i always see internet core gamer use a term:"people"(look up)

but really, you think you know the mainstream people thinking?i don't think the mainstream of Kinect buyers would care about Gears or Halo can use Kinect or not, because they never care these games,so how can be "fell for the lies"
and look at that reply, put Sesame Street and SW Kinect on the same level, even Sesame Street get 79 on metacritic, why?because "some peoples" think every casual games is crap, whatever the game type and which is the main target for this game.i mean,if you don't know what they thinking, shut up and don't care them, just like casual gamer never care what internet core gamer think

btw, leap motion?i like it actually, and i'm planning to buy,but if you really know what is this, you won't said it will replace Kinect, because they're nothing like...well yeah,it's new "weapon" for "someone",of course they don't really care what is leap motion

Nah the 32x had a few good games and wasn't actually that bad, just came out the wrong time and Sega had no intention of supporting it. MS has put it's full weight behind Kinect (for them at least, they are hardly the game releasing power house Sony is, let's be honest). Kinect is just flawed mess and 32x was a friendly mushroom.

You're right, I'd play Knuckles Chaotix over anything on Kinect as it is now :D

MS never made any of those promises, actually they stated several times Kinect is aimed for the casuals first and foremost, but they will try to bring core experiences, but never mentioning halo, gears, etc.

Once again, Kinect does a good job at what it was made for, casuals.

Kinect works good, same with Move. People need to stop getting so uptight about motion gaming. This is the first generation where motion controls really became popular and they will only continue to get better going into nextgen. If you honestly think the first iteration of anything will be perfect, then you need a serious reality check.

The big hole I find in this is that the PS Move is in a worse position and it gets no article. Wii is winding down but WiiU saves the day.

Kinect is the industries biggest motion interest as of now and this will only continue with next gen Xbox.

Even when you succeed, theres haters.

yes, indeed. redicolous that sony's move gets no article. but on the other side, the 100 owners should know that sony's support for move could be way better :)

did sony even mention move at e3?

MOVE had more support than motion+ and almost as much as Kinect, and SPorts Champions 2 was announced at E3, if your gonna troll at least know what your talking about

Clearly we have two ideas of "Move Support". Many, like me, dont count controller based games with motion added as a tack on. Like I dont consider Forza 4, ME3, or GRFS "kinect games". True Kinect and Move games stand on their own feet.

And in that regard....its pure fact that Move specific games are few and far between....even fewer that manage to score above 70 on metacritic. Sorry if the truth is trolling in your eyes.

Here the thing those games you mention for Kinect dont actually USE the motion function at all. the use the mic, so you would be stupid to consider those games as kinect games. KZ3, GE Reloaded, HR, MAG, RE5 etc actually USe the motion control aspect.

As for Move specific games...your right Ill give you that. BUt lets be real here, what possible Move specific games could they have? minigame collections, exercise, dance?? THe same shovelware nonsense that i hated on my Wii and the same nonsense thats invading the 360?? If you like those games have at you. I dont, im more than happy playing some core games with motion "tacked-on"

Among the games I listed, only ME3 is purely mic based. Forza and GR can be motion controlled to an extent. But even if it was just the mic, thats part of what kinect can do.

Point is though, the vast majority of gamers that play hybrid kinect/Move titles do so with what they were intended to be played with....a gamepad controller.

Well you pretty much validated that even with buttons the typical Move specific game cant reach beyond what Kinect has already accomplished. Your all free to play those tacked on Move functionality games, but you must know your a tiny minority in that respect.

i know im in the minority, i dont need millions of other jackasses to validate my fun. Have a blast with Steel battalion LOL

Ahhhhhh....memories, I actually loved my 32x, Chaotix, arcade perfect After Burner was nothing to be sniffed at and the first version that was actually like the System 16 arcade cabinet. First virtua fighter port from arcade, first decent port of Virtua Racing...

OK, the games cost something stupid like £60 each and support was dropped almost as soon as I got out the shop but boy did I have some fun on those games...Shame then that the Saturn came out and I looked like the poor kid who couldn't afford a Saturn (which was true haha)...Then when I could support for that was dropped pretty soon after...

The joys of being a child and skint, now I got all the consoles, am old and smelly and don't even enjoy playing all the games I pirate on hacked PS3 and xbox 360, only myself to blame. :(

Back on topic :)

Maybe not, but the sound chip in the 32x was fantastic compared to the genesis or mega drive or whatever americans call it, the sound track in Chaotix was melodic bliss through some headphones, some of the levels were brilliant and the boss battles were fab. So :p to you!!!! :)
