No, it does not.

Don't lie to me. It goes something like this: Never, seldom, sometimes, often, always. There are more words you could add, but "often" is towards the higher end of the spectrum. |
I'm not going to have this topic go in that direction just because you feel like using bilateral symmetry to create the impression of a gradient that isn't there.
"Often" may often mean "majority", but it often may not. Do you see?
Just as Skyward Sword bosses usually involved the item, but often did not.
Well actions speak louder then words. So lets see how the games turn out.
The one thing I am still not sure about myself is NintendoLand. Is it there for this reason, straight to the point simple and fun? or subliminal advertising of Nintendo's franchises?
To me it will either be brilliant or a failure to a new gamer coming in. If used correctly, assuming the 12 mini worlds are true andeach representing a core Nintendo franchise character, it can be a good way to promote to new people (and casuals I guess) the Nintendo's franchises, which hopefully will lead to better sales fo zelda, metroid, starfox etc..
| RolStoppable said: Yes, let's make this short. On two occasions the SS bosses didn't involve the dungeon item, but that's probably because it would have resulted in ridiculous boss fights. |
No, this was a discussion about "often", and that's over.
I'm dragging this back on topic.
I can think of a few games that really exemplify how action games should throw a person into the deep end. On Nintendo's side, the Mario games always do this, in 2D or 3D. Only one I can think of that screwed this up was Sunshine, and it suffered terribly.
Resident Evil 4 did this better than pretty much anyone. I'd kind of enjoy a Zelda game that opened similarly

Although DKCR had a similar option like NSMBW, the difficulty near the end of the game was harsh imo lol. |
DCKR actually did give some trouble. I kinda agree with you in a sense that Skyward Sword is practically a filler. And, well, I'm sure we all agree that we all love our balls held.

really?? I thought that was the easiest Mario i have played in years, maybe ever. THe only levels remotely hard are teh Bowser ones |
What this game does is that it gives the a false impression of its simplicity, and with its 3D deceiving you in misjudging the placement of Mario in that environment. It took me that realization to fully regard its legitimacy as a core game, really. My fault in that assessment, I guess.
Dat poll. Perfect.
@Nintendo: Throw me in the middle of a vast field to explore it looking for dungeons, upgrades, items and dungeons while I encounter enemies that represents a real threat for my quest,

I think I've said this before in another thread, but making tutorials completely optional would be great. Especially if they're made into fun minigames.

Wish there was a way to skip that ;x. |
I didn't have a single issue with that, but when I first "learned" how to play that goddamn harp, I almost died in real life. It took me literally 34 minutes to pass that single song because my controller kept flipping out. I tried all sorts of waving motions with all sorts of different speeds, and I could just NOT get it to work. I literally almost threw my special gold remote at the TV (throwing a controller is something I've never done before (still haven't!)). That's how upset I was.
Oddly after that it worked almost flawlessly in all future attempts. I feel as though the game was trolling me.

Skyward Sword had one of the fastest intro and more streamlined linear Zelda game in my memory
I'll tell you what I think when I actually see the games. I'm trying to be optimistic, but the proof is in the pudding or something like that.
