i will upper ds prediction to 82 million, but that's it!

(i don't want to set a high prediction that might not be met.)



Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.

 

Wii: 135 mil

Ps3: 85 mil

360: 60 mil

Wait, based on the past few weeks of sales, how is the wii MAJORLY widening the gap with the PS3 when only widening it with the 360? The ps3 has been outselling the 360, shouldnt it be the other way around?

I expect to see another random topic from you discussing the same topic next week. Rinse and repeat.

i'm afraid of hitting high predictions because they might not be met.

yeah but 77 milion thast just 12 million thats saying its sales beaing cut by nearly 2/3

82 million is good,but i wouldnt be suprised if it passes 90 million this year

DS will reach 100 million before 2008 ends.

i will make my estimates after GDC conference in February.
+ there should be sony press release by the end of January.
of`course there will be one after March, but i think i will know what to predict by February.

For today my approximate numbers are like:
14-15 mln. or 23-24 mln. Total -> optimistic sales.
11-12 mln. or 20-21 mln. Total -> realistic sales.

As you can see, my realistic predictions for 2007 were right, aslo optimistic predictions for europe worked too. =)

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

at bladeneo, that was a mistake! it was actually the other way around!

wii widens gap between ps3 and majorly between 360.

PS3 would reach 6 mln. with selling ~60k in europe, 60k in usa and ~30k in Japan for WHOLE year or 52 weeks.
If you think these 20 great games won`t effect PS3 sales, then yeah, 5 mln. is a FACT. =)))))))))
it will have outsold them both combined once americas and japans numbers are in

don`t know about japan yet, but they also should decline.

 You honestly expect the Wii to sell 25 million in one year? I'm really doubting it, I'd be surprise to see the Wii pass 30 million, and for two reasons, 1 most people who want a Wii have gotten it by now, the new fad is dying down, and two, 2008 is projected to be a extremely good year for HDTV's and other High Def media, so once people realize their cheap Wii looks like crap, they will avoid it.
