While I loved the N64 and did indeed play Mario 64 to death, it would have been nice to have more than two games at launch.

Nowhere close.I was just making the point that wii sports and mario 64 were both games that were so different to the games before it..with 3d and motion control and stuff

Wii Sports is actually this generation's Pong. It's very simple and addictive to play for many.
