Forums - General - What's the worst date you have ever been on?

Well back in high school, I was (and still am) a pretty shy guy. Most of the time when I got a date it was purely due to dumb luck and I rarely had the courage to actually ask a girl out. There was this one girl who was pretty out of my league but she was still hot and we always talked a lot during one of our classes.

So one day I finally work up the courage to ask her out and she actually said yes! We went out-- went to the mall, ate some dinner, I even met her grandma at the retirement home. All-in-all, it was a pretty good date I thought. Since I am the shy guy and all, I didn't try to kiss her or anything after the date, just left it at a hug.

The next day I'm talking to her again and apparently she thought we went out as friends and that's when I find out she had been dating another guy for a few days.

Oh! Almost forgot about my other embarrassing story.

There was this other girl who I had been friends with for a while. She had dated one of my friends but they had been broken up for a good amount of time. We talked pretty often and even one day spent a good three hours talking on the phone (which I never do, I hate phones). I knew she liked me, she knew I liked her.

So one night on the band bus coming back from an away football game we were sitting in the same seat talking. I was up against the window and she was in my arms. It was about that point I decided I was going to work up the courage to ask her out.

I say her and said I wanted to ask you something..., I stalled, chickened out, and the first thing I saw was a gas station sign. I say did you ever notice how quickly gas station prices are raising?

It was an awkward ride home.

damn...harsh.

So this was the last date with my ex:

We decided on a movie date, but when we were starting the date she tells me that she had to go do something else she had forgotten to tell me about, so she had to leave within the hour. So, yeah, we didn't end up doing anything because there wasn't even enough time to catch a movie. So we sit on a park bench instead, with some ice cream, and lo and behold some bird decides to take a shit on my jeans. It actually didn't matter at all, I laughed, made a joke, and played it off well. Neither of us really cared. But 40 minutes later she was dumping me.

At least it had nothing to do with the bird shit.

I've never had a bad date. I don't think I even went on an actual date with my last girlfriend.

That didn't stop you from trying again, did it?

Also, har! (:P)

I have two memorably horrible dates.

I'd been with this guy for about 6 months and finally was taken out to dinner to a (really nice) Indian restaurant. It was the first time I'd ever been taken out To Dinner and I was excited. My boyfriend spent a lot of time talking about previous times he'd been there (obviously got me thinking about with whom: his ex-fiancé he'd lived round the corner with). Rule number 1: Don't talk about your ex! Over the course of the dinner there was massive awkward silence, he helped himself to two of my dishes, ordered before me and forgot to order me a drink. I told him at the end that if that had been our first date, there would probably never have been a second one.

Another date with the same guy.. My graduation ball. The culmination and celebration of 4 years' commitment and hard slog at uni for a night in a £250 ball gown surrounded by my classmates and my gorgeous, proud boyfriend. It started great, he was a gentleman and even got everyone up on the dancefloor. He came across as amazing especially considering my ex was there, having been on my course.

Then he got absolutely smashed, called my lecturers dickheads (this was before I got my frickin degree results.) I had to walk a mile and a half through a rough area of the city to get a taxi at 2am on a saturday night and he followed 100 steps behind me yelling and swearing his head off. Got to the hotel he'd booked, he exploded into a tirade and then fell asleep while I cried until 5am.

The next day I did something I don't normally do - I told my mum what had happened. When she saw him face to face that day she gave him such a bollocking about how he'd ruined 4 years of my hard work and if he ever got drunk again she'd forbid me from seeing him. Effing alcohol.

That was only 3 weeks ago. I'm still with him, and I haven't forgiven him yet. I suspect I will one day. :/

I feel like this thread should be "tell us your worst date ever, and then tell us how well you are off with a girl now." xD I read these stories and feel so shocked and sad, hoping that you all recovered and are since then living a better dating life!

I've never been on a bad date, been awkward, shy, or had a hard time with anything relating to girls.

I guess the fact that I was raised by a family made up of only females (mom, 2 sisters, aunt, grandma) made me grow up with a different understanding of females than most guys have.

I'm sorry but I had to get your attention somehow.

I'm needy so when I make a thread people damn well post in it or else I start feeling insecure.
