just because you dont have a score or grade in your head, doesnt mean others dont. What is the alternative? You want that man to spend his money on something he might hate?? WHy?? All that does is encourage more bad to mediocore games being developed.

No what happens is you get people skipping good games because those games don't line up with what reviewers expect. Does it have hype, the best graphics, the most content etc.

Nier only ended up with 69%? Oh well it must be worthless. Dragon's Dogma below 80%? Oh well it clearly isn't an AAA game like Skyrim, no point in playing it.

I want people to be more concerned about the content of the review than the final score.

And who determines what games are good?? YOU?? Me?? Thats the whole point of reviews, you havent even played the game yet and you're saying its good. NMHs is sitting on a 83 on Meta and it is one the most boring games i have played in years. Thank god I didnt go by that or by what some were saying. But Blood Stone 007 is sitting at 65 and i think that game deserves a higher score but hey, whatcha gonna do.

Please point out where I say Lollipop chainsaw is good.

Also you just totally proved my point that the score is worthless and it's the content of reviews that matters.

Fair enough.

I never said you were wrong on that account, my issue was you like sounded like some other loons, that say META is bad. WHen it isnt. 9/10 times i find that those averages are in line with how the game is at least for me and some others. Of course their are exceptions which i have mentioned two already.

I think the reviewers are being overly generous, and doing a disservice to their audience. Never give people enough credit to be bothered to actually read the review. Some dolt out there is going to pick this game up on the rating alone, and that same dolt is going to blow a gasket when he or she polishes the game off in one sitting. They are going to get reamed, and deservedly so I might add. It all boils down to how good is this product going to be for the average buyer. The person that uses review scores to find the best game for their gaming dollar.

The vast majority of gamers are going to consider the games length to be a major fault, and it isn't irrational when you consider that the majority of gamer are of modest means. Most gamers have to stretch their games between purchases, and cannot afford to be paying full blown retail for just a few hours enjoyment. I think some of these reviews are a sign of just how out of touch some reviewers are with their audience. I think some of these super high reviews would be modified if reviewers had to pay for their games, and they didn't get a constant stream of games.

There is a world of difference between that was a great ten hour, and that was a great ten hours, but its a shame that is all I am going to get for two months. The way I see it this is just a matter of practical reviewing. There is no way in hell players are going to get the same value out of this game that they would get out of a Halo or Skyrim. So there isn't anyway it should get anywhere near the same score.

I am not hating on the game by any means, but dammit price does matter, and it matters to the people who are going to put their faith in a review score. I can see this score being valid at a ten dollar price point, and maybe even a twenty dollar price point. At sixty bucks no way in hell it deserves a nine out of ten. Hell I don't even get the coin up fetish love some of these reviewers espoused. How many coin jockeys are really left out there, and why would you write a review with them in mind. Not that there haven't been games that catered to them this generation anyway.

Anyway I will pick up this game when it is used or in severe discount. I already played Bayonetta this generation, and I ain't seeing where this game does something better while being shorter. While I am on the subject I really would love to hear how it stacks up against Bayonetta. That is if anyone picking up this one played that one, and if you haven't your missing a damn good game.

First impression:

Yeah. This game kinda sucks. False alarm, people. Didn't mean to get your hopes up.

It's basically Onechanbara with slightly better graphics (meaning it still looks like a 2006 Xbox 360 title) with rough animations. It's not really stylish like we've been led to believe. Some of the textures are Dreamcast quality and the animations are House of the Dead calibre.

Gameplay is just as abysmal. My right thumb hurts from basically jamming on the buttons for 45 minutes. It feels pretty cumbersome and I can't seem to find a rhythm. I didn't die or anything, yet. It just feels ancient like Zombie Revenge (which I actually enjoyed at the time due to the two player co-op and the presentation) or Dynamite Cop (which I loathed).  Maybe when I buy some new moves, things will get less repetitive.

The game has charm and the main character is sexy if a little stiff. My pawn in Dragon's Dogma is hotter. I'm gonna finish it because I'm a sucker for a game with a hot female lead but this isn't a good game. It could have been an XBL downloadable, unless something drastic changes in the next few chapters. Castle Crashers does it better and with more depth.

A rental at best (though I don't totally regret the purchase.....yet.) if I were anybody else. Part of me thinks that the girl at Gamestop was actually mocking me, now. She probably knew the game sucked and had a big laugh as soon as I left.

Don't ever mention a masterpiece like Bayonetta in the same breath as this game.

I really have to check I'm getting this right. What you are saying is reviewers should change their reviews and the scores given based on what the average gamer will think? The moment that happens I will never read any review from that site. A review should be the reviewers opinion. Not him trying to say what Joe Bloggs will like.

Limbo? Too short, too weird and not enough explosions for your average gamer. 2/10.

I would even take massive issue with you saying some dolt is going to pick this up on the rating alone.... they aren't. Your average gamer who plays Call Of Duty is never in a million years going to see a 9/10 for a game called Lollipop Chainsaw, with a weird box art, clear quirky Japanese style etc and just shrug and buy it anyway because it has a good rating on metacritic. The same way that consumer didn't buy a weird, rock punk, horror comedy, single player shooter.

I haven't played the game in full yet but one sitting for the consumer you are describing sounds extreme too. Everything I have heard is that the game is around 5-6 hours in length. If a consumer is playing a game for 5 hours straight in one sitting then they probably aren't the type of person to only look at a game's score. (Well there was that one polish website that literally no-one had ever heard of before that claimed it was 4 hours and suddenly got more hits than it ever had. Even then though 4 hours for this 'average' gamer who is apparently a dolt who can't be bothered reading?)

Not only this but you are saying replayability doesn't count for this average consumer. So a beat em up then? Where in a few hours you can play every character and every stage. None of them ever deserve to get a 9/10 at $60? Replayability is something reviewers consider.

Seriously if someone is only looking at the score then it serves them right when they buy something they don't like. The score is just a vague approximation of what that reviewer felt the experience deserved. There is no magic 9/10 = x amount of hours with x amount of interesting gameplay. Who are you to say that because the game is only so long it cannot get a 9/10 at $60? The reviewer felt that's what it deserved and most importantly backed it up with their written review.

Also if you are expecting this to be like Bayonetta then you will be very dissappointed. Bayonetta is one of the greatest action games ever made. I would even say placing this and Bayonetta in the same genre isn't entirely accurate. There is a big difference between the style of DMC hard core action game and the lighter fare of Lollipop chainsaw.

Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

You're tearing me apart, Lisa Lewis!

Still gonna get it based on essence alone.

I don't think I'm gonna get it. There doesn't seem to be enough substance besides a hot cheerleader and some humor. Reviews say the combat is simplistic and clunky and a 4-5 hour campaign is really a no-go. Of course, forever alone-Sterling gave this a 9/10, since he hasn't been with hot girl and never will. Probably he's still a virgin.

Maybe I reconsider it when it's cheap enough, which it will be pretty soon I guess. Playing some PSN Plus stuff or getting other better and cheaper titles seems the better deal to me right now.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

I'm sure you already got the achievement for taking a sneak peak under her skirt right ?

No.  I'm a gentleman.

Plus, every time I tried, she covers it up with her hand.
