Forums - Gaming - What if a company made a video game console costing $1000 (READ OP FOR THE REST OF THE QUESTION)

I hope they do that in a way, I don't want to pay 1000$ up front it's too much. But paying for a service during some time and that service pays the console at the same time is great in my book. I hope they do that because they wouldn't have to worry about power and features. People with less income could pay the upfront cost and the machine could come with the best features available.

In a way it is a bit like World of Warcraft. A really good gaming PC is expensive, and last time I check was $15 a month. Throw in Gamefly (if they did PC) and you are close, and can play most games

Since you can do other things with a computer, people don't look at it as a $1000 console.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

No, it seems as though I would be buying a PC that would simply get surpassed within months by other PCs because being a console it's not likely to be upgradeable.

I would never buy a console on a plan where I'm paying interest, as far as I'm concerned if you can't afford it up front you probably shouldn't be buying it. I could afford the 1000 dollars but I just couldn't justify it for a games machine.

$1000 for a five year premium cloud gaming subscription that has periodic hardware upgrades so that you are always playing on cutting edge hardware, now that I've have to think about.

I spent about $800-$100 on my Vita in the first four weeks. If I want it, I'll buy it. I won't buy a gaming PC, though. Funny how that works.

The systems would die,

and the rest of the fools who bought it would be stuck looking foolish with basically an undersupported $1,000 console.

But as we discovered this generation....there are tons of fools out there........many tons.

Why the heck did a thug want you to buy a Vita?! XD

Actually, if it was really mind blowing, with insane graphics, gameplay and capabilities, I would buy it. If it was US$ 1000 + monthly subscription, no way. If it was subscription + discount in price and I got free games (like PSN+ now), then I would probably buy too.
