Forums - Gaming - Sony – our competitors “are losing the plot” with gamers

While I hate Microsoft gaming now, and I do mean hate, Sony seriously stop making an ass out of yourself, they seem to have better grasp at business model that works for them.

WONDERBOOK!

Shuts them down pretty quick.

Though it can be argued they split their time better between the two so...

Yep. It was 50% Wonderbook/50% other stuff. Seemed very fair, and after all, it's not like they had a new handheld to promote or anything!

CROSS-PLAY!!! Everything you can play on your ps3 can be played on the Vita, thus making 1 or the other effectively useless- but that's not the point- the point is

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Ridge Racer! Wonderbook! $599 dorrarz! 2 jobs!

Put your arrogance back in your pocket Sony, you look like a 3 year old wailing around while drowning in the ocean.

I was just thinking of this.

Sony seems to be severly inclosed. Kind of like China in ancient times, they didn't want to share or change their ways.

Well yup.

Sony's game problem seems to be that the differentiate by trying to do what every other third party game company is trying to do but 'better'. They cater really well to the desensitised minority of gamers, the ones who buy a lot of games at that. The thing that will trip them up is that as they make their games more realistic with better animation and better graphics is that not only will the games cost more to make with only a single console to recoup their expenses they will also turn off the wider audience who is sensitive to graphic violence.

That and graphics won't always improve forever. There is a point to which a game can already look too realistic. Sooner or later Sony isn't going to have their defining factor anymore.

The defining factor of Sony games is graphics? Come on Ninpie you may be a Nintendo fan but that's a little ridiculous.

This my friends is why Sony is losing the plot with gamers. The most popular games in the world are the kind of games and gamers that Sony don't seem to be interested in. They are a hardcore company who makes games to serve themselves and you can really see how that kind of attitude follows through with their sales numbers and the 'relative' ineffectiveness of their first and second party studios next to their numbers and talent.

I don't want them to change. They have been raping the competition with quality AAA titles for 2 years by now

It's true. And that is not coming out of the mouth of my Nintendo Fandom.

Sony has some great titles but what really seperates them from the rest is their graphics. I think that is kind of obvious seeing as how they pride themselves on them.

Does that make them a huge success? No, it does not.

Sony isn't in a good position and that is because something needs to change.
