Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge on Wii U brings back dismemberment

Improves on the original game in every way, says Tecmo Koei.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge for Wii U promises to improve on the original Xbox 360 and PS3 game in every way, Tecmo Koei has claimed.

Ninja Gaiden 3 has been reworked for Wii U and now offers more weapon and Ninpo types, a new character progression system, a redesigned battle system and the return of dismemberment.

Features

• Unique Wii U controls – During single-player mode, players can enjoy faster and more fluid action by using the touch screen of the Wii U GamePad controller to select weapons, execute Ninpo, see in-game information and much more.
• New Weapons and Ninpo Types – Exclusive to the Wii U version, the game includes six weapon types and three Ninpo types, allowing for greater game-play variation and deeper strategy.
• Character/Weapon Progression System – Using the Karma points earned during game play, a player can upgrade his weapons and Ninpo and increase the character HP level.
• Faster, More Intense Battles – Improved enemy AI, the return of dismemberment, as well as new enemy types and battle areas have been added for greater variety in battles and increased replay value.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will be released holiday 2012.

I read it else where but that good news that a developer is using the port to remedy the complaints with the original.

Likely they had to fix the game to get Nintendo to agree to publish it, because they are. If you paid attention to the sizzle reel, Nintendo was listed as publisher.

Nintendo is publishing THIS? That just feels... awkward.. considering the "kiddy" feel everyone gives Ninty.

But cool.

Well kind of an off-the-mark reference but Disney Films (not Touchstone which they also own) published a R rated movie. (Just one in its history - "Somthing Wicked This way comes") On the other hand Nintendo has published a few M rated games in its time.

This....this might be one of my 2 or 3 Wii U launch titles. Ninja Gaiden was one of my favorite games last gen. Ninja Gaiden 2 was one of my reasons for buying a 360. I was really upset by how bad 3 was received and never bought it, but they seem to be fixing all the major complaints. I'm really excited for this.

Also, since this game is being published by Nintendo, I just want to say that Ryu Hyabusa in Smash Brothers would be > Big Daddy in Sony All Star Battle Royale, lol.

Its funny, I went from not caring about the Wii U after watching Nintendo's E3 debacle to getting psyched again. There are actually quite a few games I'm considering now for launch, but I already have such a huge backlog of PC, PS3, 360, Wii and 3DS games.
