Nice article. Always liked forbes

I haven't read it. Posting a thread, with just a link as the OP is lazy.

Im gonna say this.

Ubisoft >> Nintendo > Sony > EA >> Microsoft.

Thats my view on E3. Aside from Ubisoft, everyone was mediocre or poor.

This isn't really Forbes proper, it's an internet-only blog hosted by them and he gets paid per article so he can spam anything to do with videogames of any validity.

lol i read a forbes article yesterday where they said that microsoft will win the living-room war because of things like smart glass and that this will make nintendos tablet useless and one day later i read on forbes "who really needs smart glass" and that tablets alone cost a lot. funny forbes articles.

While I don't think the actaul content of E3 was anywhere near as bad as people say it was, I'd argue it was great, the worst part of E3 returned. Presentation. Everyone sucked at it. Ubi had the best conference in my opinion but it was a stupid style of presentation. Everyone failed at it in some way and it needs to be improved upon in my opinion.

Everyone sucked it. I can't believe how many people are so high on Ubi. Watch Dogs looks cool, but overall they weren't that good. Seeing them in every conference was just overkill.

Apple won E3.

The failures are strictly on the matter of showmanship, i say. We're left feeling worse than it was because everyone insisted on weighing their shows down with unnecessary crap or representing stuff in a worse light than they could have (for instance, perceptions are generally positive for those who've actually played Nintendoland, which you would otherwise think is Wii Music levels of suck if you just went off how they pitched it at the conference.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yea pretty fair article. All the big 3 made such big mistakes that I don't think calling any of them a winner is right.

Microsoft - Way too much focus on multimedia stuff that is likely to be US only, far too much demonstration of multi-platform titles etc

Sony - Way too much time spent on that awful book of spells/wonderbook. That was just embarrassing. Seemingly sending the Vita out to die and not even bothering. New first party games? Who needs them when you can have ports!

Nintendo - Utter disaster of branding, time spent on pointless multi-platform stuff like Batman Arkham city with some new content but a year late and a total failure to provide any wow moments.

Turkish says and I'm allowed to quote that: Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 look better than Unreal Engine 4 games will or the tech demo does. Also the Naughty Dog PS3 ENGINE PLAYS better than the UE4 ENGINE.

Nah

all shite if you ask me.

the whole conference... bereft of anything remotely interesting for 2012, why we all get excited about things coming in 2013, 2014 is beyond me, half will change beyond all recognisiton or actually never see the light of day

Still I'm happy with the multiplats that are coming and that I can play Forza Horizon and Halo 4 this year and then look forward to Nextbox 2013.  Feel sorry for Wii owners, its a disgrace the way nitnendo have dropped that and Sony seem intent on announcing at least 1 year ahead as always, not sure why that categorises them as winning anything or being ahead... they also took a dump on some of their "fans" by having a truly awful Vita showing.

I can see why people think they were all rubbish. I just really liked a bunch of Ubi stuff. They were at every conference and had by far the best "reveal", with Watch-Dogs.

Assassin's Creed 3/ Vita. Rayman Legends. Splinter Cell. FarCry 3. Shootmania. Watch_Dogs. Just Dance 4. ZombiU. They had a whole lot on show.

Nintendo showed some huge games, but neglected 3DS and didn't show anything to be excited for beyond 2012. Reggie was boring and it ended really, really badly.

Sony blew the load before the show, as usual... Ignored Vita. They had the Beyond reveal, that nobody knew about and they spent too long on the Wonderbook. The Last Of Us gameplay really saved this for me.

Microsoft spent way too much time on shit I don't care about. Too many media apps, too much Kinect (Nike fitness game?)... Not enough games. Like Sony, blew the surprise before the show (Gears). RE6 was disappointing and the big "surprise" for the show was Blops 2 gameplay. Halo and Forza both look brilliant though. Don Mattrick was also present. This isn't s good thing.

My main gripe with every show was the lack of surprises. I wanted to think to myself "Wow, didn't expect that". The only game to truly surprise me was Watch_Dogs.
