Honestly, what did Nintendo do that warrants this type of response?

if you watched the feed on e3.nintendo.com and read peoples comments

Most wanted Zelda haha.

Why? I have no idea, we seen a zelda at E3 last year and one just come out not so long ago. How is teasing people with a trailer of zelda going to be a BIG surprise?

I would rather see a GTA5 annoucement or watch dog something that we would not expect to see on nintendo. In general some mroe 3rd party annoucements woud have been good.

Made me watch Nintendo Land at the end of their conference, because, you know, companies usually try to end their conference on a high note, this one could have been Smash Bros. Also, shouldn't have divided their conferences and should have just created a 2 hour super conference.

Nintendo Land went on too long I'll admit, but it could have been much worse, like Sonys 15 minute Wonderbook debacle. However, Sony did end with a "mindblowing" headshot in The Last of Us, one of their 2 titles worth mentioning.

Outside of the carnival appearance, look at the actual minigames WITHIN N-Land though... I noticed the presentation was no different from a Mario Party & some Animal Crossing but with Miis. We saw maybe 2/12 games within Nintendo Land.

When Iwata announced Smash Bros last year, Kid Icarus was not even finished yet! Sakurai had no work of any type dedicated to a new SB...Besides look at the previous Smash release years... 1999?....2001...2008...I dont expect a WiiU/3DS release until 2015, which makes perfect historical sense. Don't forget these games are more graphically intense than ever either.

Could you imagine watching Iwata talk for HALF AN HOUR on-stage? Absolutely not, and it was a brilliant idea to keep the two entities separate. Nintendo must have warned us at least 100 times during presentation how strapped for time they were, and they even went 10 minutes overboard.  The strategy they are taking with their release is so vintage and predictable that I have no cause for concern. As if WiiU was not enough, the have a whole conference for their handheld side of the business tomorrow....

If history has told me anything...after NSMBU sells gangbusters... there will be a Smash in 2015 revealed at E3 2014, a Mario 3D title next holiday with a Mario Kart about 6 months after that. There will be another Wii____ title that makes representative use of tablet function that summer. Zelda will be there 2014 since they already began work on it. Pikmin is near done, so whatever IP that team has worked on before, they'll go back to, or try to finish this 'new character' Miyamoto said he was trying to create. Retro, Monolith, and Next Level will have stuff to show at next year's E3, in addition to 3rd parties this year at TGS like Capcom & Square Enix.

Nintendo had to cover all the bases. Sure for launch they are receiving ports, but that is not anything new.

Black Ops, Assassins Creed, Tekken, Mass Effect, Batman, ZombiU, Darksiders, Ninja Gaiden, Alien. They have to start somewhere and games take time. Not everyone is exactly releasing new IPs around here either. What is missing? Bioshock? Medal of Honor? Resident Evil 6? GTAV (no one knows). Other titles have not been confirmed, but they have not been denied either.

One thing that bugged me is that, if they needed more time, why didn't they just schedule a longer conference? Sony's confernce was an hour and a half. Aother thing,  Nintendo's E3 06 conference was the same legnth as this, but they demoed Zelda AND Wii Sports AND Red Steel AND announced a shitload of core games for the system, AND the DS Lite. If they're serious about courting the hardcore, then there HAS to be more in development that this, from both Nintendo and third parties.

Nintendo Land seemed like an interesting  idea, but it went on for too long as you said. Cut the Nintendo Land time in half, and use the rest of that time to show some real gameplay of ZombiU, or tease a new game. New Super Mario Bros. U is good, but we just got 3D land, and on top of that, NSMB2. Pikmin wasn't surprising at all, given it was supposedly in development in '08. Retro and Monolith were both due for reveals, and all signs pointed at Retro revealing a new, mature IP that will launch with the Wii U. Monolith helped with Skyward Sword, and is developing Project X Zone, so I can understand if they couldn't show anything, but what's stopping Retro?

I agree with you on the part about ports.

This E3 made me glad that i'm a pc gamer.....

And my Youtube links are just describing how i feel about this years E3

E3=bad for console gamers

On the flip side, SaviorX made a few good points. You complainers did kinda overreact to some things.

(This is for the complainers)

For starters, everybody talked about the fact that there weren't any big franchise titles besides Mario and Pikmin. Nintendo only has so many developers, and most of those developers launched a game last year. The only dev they had that should've been ready to unveil that didn't was Retro. If they didn't show Star Fox/Metroid/DK/F-Zero this year, than they're not in development. It's as simple as that. Nintendo ALREADY outsources as much stuff as it can, and we know how small they are compared to the other two. They tried (and failed) to show off third party support, because that's what the hardcore wants. As I said in an earlier post, they have to have more in development, and we won't know until later.

Now talking about third parties. All Nintendo needs to do to get the hardcore, is do what MS did in the 360's first year. Secure the big "next gen" games as timed exclusives so when Sony and Microsoft reveal their plans for the next generation, Nintendo won't miss out on any of the groundbreaking titles that you know will be on Orbis/Durango. Watch_Dog is a start. Dead or Alive, Bioshock, Sonic 06, and F.E.A.R. ,all hyped up "next gen" games back in 05, were released on the 360 first, and gamers went where the games were.

whatever...nintendo did fine, ubisoft did the best.

But to be fair, Sony and MS were no better...

One must wonder, if Nintendo are by far the oldest, the most loved, and now the most profitable of the big 3 (gaming-wise), why the hell isn't that money going on studios to make games? Where the hell did all those billions of dollars go that I keep hearing about?

I'm all for quality over quantity but there sure as hell isn't a lack of quality in the rest of the community that they can crib from.

They'll announce more games along the way before the full fledged worldwide release of the Wii-U, its like the Vita, people say NO GAMEZ, people will say no GAMEZ for the Wii-U but it will be there *_*

That's what I was telling HappyD to cheer him up, but now he's gone to sleep I can be more negative without him reading it and getting even more depressed

You weren't angry enough in the OP. If you threw in a couple of more expletives and this would have been much better. A "I would rather have sex with Rosie O'Donnell than..." would have helped this piece as well.

Amp, I just want you to know I fell asleep to this yesterday, sobbing. It was the intro to FFIV the after years.

LOL

And I'm not even kidding. There was a time when I could look upon these cartridges with wide-eyed admiration, and stare at the screen for hours.

I'm not sure that day will ever return on a Nintendo console for me.

Sony stole them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ever since that day... Nintendo hasn't been the same. I want 3rd parties back on board, all of them. I want to see the day Nintendo works with 3rd parties again to infuse their magic into the talent of other companies and create an ecosystem that actually works for everybody and not that tries to work for everybody. Does everybody want to play NintendoLand? NO! It's really for babies. I wouldn't ever go to a theme park that looked as ridiculous as that. At least if they made it look like a theme park I'd be happy. But it's a glorified birthday cake.

I still want to cry.
