Based on how irate some people are getting, you would think Nintendo did invent it. No doubt SSB is by far the most popular but that doesn't mean anyone else can't join the party.

Since they are part of the same "genre" of course there are gonna be similarities. FPSs all feature guns, shooting people in the face, set pieces and long corridors disguised as a vast arenas doesn't mean COD invented the genre. I could easily do a thread that shows how Uncharted is a copy of Resident Evil, how HomeFront is a copy of COD 1

How Fifa 13 is a copy of Onside Soccer on the PS1, how Forza Horizons is just a copy of Test Drive Unlimited.

Since we haven't seen the whole game, you can't accuse it of being a 100% carbon copy, it will most likely have features that seperate it from others in the genre. effectively shitting on it before it's even out of the blocks is unfair and unjust but a common attitude on the internet sadly.

Nobody shat on it. It's clear from what we've seen and what we know that it is a 96% carbon copy. That isn't bad per se, once you're over it. What's bad is people denying the truth at hand, and embellishing. There is nothing more irritating in the gaming community than that specific attitude. We need more neutrality in general.

The elements you mentioned were discussed in the thread, so there is nothing ambiguous here. There are fundamental point-ranking differences, but much of the rest is 1 to 1. If you want inspiration, look at the other videos in the thread (power stone, smash compared to outfoxies), but PABR is to Smash what Palom is to Parom, i.e. a twin.

So whether it's released or not, at this point with what we know about it, is not unfair. It's actually quite logical.
