Forums - Nintendo - ''Do you know about the Wii U?''

It seems that ''According to reports, Nintendo has contacted journalists over the phone, asked the question, “Do you know about the Wii U?” Then simply said, “If not, you will.” And yes, that is as weird as it sounds. The voice on the other end is described as “odd” and I can only imagine everyone who has received this call will die in seven days. The assumption is that this is some sort of viral marketing campaign from Nintendo. Bizarre.''

What do you think? is Nintendo going too far? it IS Nintendo? It's the coolest viral campaing ever?

According to the original source it's supposed to be a campaing for the game ''known'' as Medium, still very interesting.

EDIT: It seems that indeed the phone calls had nothing to do with Nintendo, they were to promote Medium, a new game by bloober team, in fact they were the ones who made all of this viral thing.

If you go to the official page for the game and message the e-mail at the bottom you'll get a little response, things like  ''Enjoy your game!''  ''You have only seen half so far.''  ''This is all what I can tell you at this time.''  ''Something big is coming :)''

Meanwhile Medium is listed at E3 as a ''Completely new model of gameplay. New gender. The game is coming for WiiU, PSvita-or-PS3 and also for X360, iOS, Android and PC."

The actual line is, "Have you heard about [Wii U / Medium]?" not "Do you know."

it's not like this is the same game company that made an ad were two random chinese guys decided to knock on people's doors and asked "WE WANT TO PLAY WITH YOU".... ..... .... yep

mM

I'd be scared shitless if I got that call. Sounded pretty threatening to me lol

Well, I guess that's one way to check if people's bodies are ready.
