Wow if this is new technology then they have just made MS patents worthless, this is much better. 

you know, you bring up a good point.  This demo the user is obviouly waaay closer then the typical kinect user.  maybe that's why the accuracy is soo much better moreso then anything else.

Kinect detects your whole body. Leaf(frog?) can only use your hands or chopsticks.

yeah sure but that shows how much is possible nowadays. i bet it is possible to build such a product for the whole body as well in the future (maybe kinect 2 as example) and this is exactly what some want to have, a product you can use your hands for but don't have to jump in front of your tv^^

you have to be near the sensor if i understand the video correct. which means you would have to put the sensor on your table or so. sure this technique isn't perfect for gaming but it shows how precise hand gestures can be nowadays. put some more workk in that thing and it will work for the whole body in the future^^
