Awesome!!
Anybody else have a feeling there has actually been a game featuring this guy in development at Nintendo for a while now, and this is sort of viral advertising?
Maybe it's Retro's new IP!
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Speaking about the Zelda tech demo shown at last year’s E3 and the future of the series in glorious HD, Miyamoto said:
“Obviously we stared that experiment last year and used that to sort of showcase some of the HD visuals. And obviously when you look at that, you do get a positive reaction to how simply having the HD visuals in a Zelda game can really make the game look wonderful and give it sort of a high-quality feel.
“But one thing that’s interesting is we’re seeing how the way that tastes are broadening in video games and you have some people who prefer more casual experiences, and you have some people who prefer sort of those more in-depth experiences. Obviously, as a company that’s been making games for a very long time, we tend to be more on the deeper, longer game side of things.
“But really what we continue to ask ourselves as we have over the years is, “What is the most important element of Zelda if we were to try to make a Zelda game that a lot of people can play?” So we have a number of different experiments going on, and [when] we decide that we’ve found the right one of those to really help bring Zelda to a very big audience, then we’ll be happy to announce it.”
Asked whether the game is in R&D stage then, Miyamoto replied:
“Yeah. With the last game, Skyward Sword, that was a game where you had motion control to use your weapons and a lot of different items, and I thought that was a lot of fun, but there were some people who weren’t able to do that or didn’t like it as much and stopped playing partway through it. So we’re in the phase where we’re looking back at what’s worked very well and what has been missing and how can we evolve it further.”
Regarding Miyamotos thoughts about making a Zelda for the most amount of people: just making it goddamn hard core again!! Original Zelda: 7 million, OoT: 8-9 million... And just look at Skyrim: 12 MILLION! C'mon, it's not hard to see what ppl really want. They DON'T want an easy game, a light experience!!
@ryan: I also liked the controls in Skyward Sword, but this sentence
With the last game, Skyward Sword, that was a game where you had motion control to use your weapons and a lot of different items, and I thought that was a lot of fun, but there were some people who weren’t able to do that or didn’t like it as much and stopped playing partway through it.
makes me think that they are going to reconsider their use.
And motion controls being an option would mean no real use of their qualities, so there would be no real benefit.
Please excuse my bad English.

Note the skit it came from to show off video conferencing feature. There were a number of quirky things in it. Having the guy speak to an action figure, and showing how he was able to blow off his annoying friend for help (he gets help from an elderly guy), makes him talking to an action figure approved. And, if it was going to have an action figure, might as well go generic/non-specific. It has a bit of chuckle humor, because it gets specifically labelled "Non-Specific Action Figure". And then whole theme of the pre-E3 presentation it comes from, also featuring Iwata meditating on bananas, was "Unique". It fit the context, but wasn't so planned that they have a game in the works. If there is a place for the guy, it would end up being Smash Bros. at this point.
It also seriously undermines the joke if "Non-Specific Action Figure" becomes an actual brand that leads anything. NSAF is best suited in cameos, rather than as a lead, because it then stops to be fun.
