Forums - Gaming - Is Assassin's Creed II boring or does it just start off slow?

Seems like the game is not you. I enjoyed pretty much everything about this game and finished it over a weekend. I usually take much longer to play games and can't play more than an hour or two at a stretch but time flew playing and enjoying an old city come to life.

Or maybe we're not so much alike. A lot of the things I liked are things that you disliked. I liked the combat, the "platforming", and stuff. I liked building my Villa, hiring whores, and I liked the story.

This is surprising. How can anyone enjoy the combat? All you're doing is pressing the 'counter' button the whole time. Maybe it becomes more deep later on?

You have to remember that this came out in 2009. The combat in brother and revelations has been more streamlined and faster *think Batman AA and AC*. So at that time it was pretty good for its genre.

It's been a while since I played it but I remember how much I enjoyed picking pockets and then watching people react, stabbing people with poison that drove them mad, and watching how people around them reacted, dyeing my own clothes, sneaking up on people for the kill, and using ranged weapons. I really do think it's a great game.

Try to stay with it, I guess. Then again, if it's not for you then it's not for you. Don't waste time playing something you don't enjoy. That's why The Witcher II is on the shelf right now. It's a good game but I couldn't get into it.

If you like sneaking up on people, altering your clothing, and watching NPC reactions, then you should check out the Hitman series!

Yeah, I guess this game just isn't for me.

Also, put the Witcher 2 to some use, & send it to me so I can play it.

Brotherhood is the best one. You have to remember to be creative. Climb stuff, jump on stuff, enjoy yourself!

According to me brotherhood is the exact copy of AC II, with the story being absolutely worse and there are some minor gameplay improvements, something I would have expected from an expansion pack. Worse voice acting too.

I was pretty disappointed with it.

To OP: What I did like about AC II was it's story, and using my hidden blade to kill my targets. Also trying not to get into conflicts and such. Hiring groups to distract your enemies and stuff.

Lol it's the best in the series, so I recommend just forgetting about getting into the series,

Tbh I thought the game was rubbish! I played it for about 8-10 hours.

Didn't you call me grumpy old whiner awhile ago for complaining about exactly that ? =(
And no it doesn't get any deeper, you get more weapons as if the game isn't easy enough as is, but you can even kill bosses the same way, no awesome boss fights for you!! Oh and the endings are cliffhangers, so if you grind yourself through the game just to see the ending you will be terribly disappointed and you even might end up hurting someone.

The ending is basically "if you actually wanna know what is going on, buy the next game"
