Forums - Movies & TV - Will Smith slaps kissing reporter during MIB3 premier

Seeing this makes me wonder why Will didn't beat down Jim Carry during the MTV's award show.

i can't tell, is the reporting doing that european cheek kissing thing or trying to get a piece?

either way it wasn't much of a slap -- will shouldn't get in as much trouble and he undoubtedly will for that.

It's pretty clear he was doing the cheek kiss, as he was nowhere near his lips.  Maybe Will should take some lessons in culture when he is going to be going to be in other countries.

That was not the normal cheek-kissing greet I've seen is custom in certain countries. I think his response was just fine, the guy was getting far too... "personal."

I love the guys face... he liked the slap... it's his fetish.

hate crime

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Vitalii Sediuk overdid it on purpose. I think Will Smith was shocked himself that he slapped him.

The first time I read the title of this thread I read" Will smith keeps kissing reporter during interview."

I will see Men in Black 3 if everyone else checks out BAttleship!

What are you? PR for Battleship?

I would have done more then that,if I was will smith. I'm surprised he kept his cool,as much as he did,but it was infront of the cameras and at a premire,so that's probably why. lol

Why what's your problem with what the reporter did?

Edit, inspected video further, I agree he was provoking, at first glance it appeared as others have said to be a greeting.

He wasn't, the cheek kissing done in european mainland (I'm from UK and we don't do it domestically with other brits) doesn't actually involve lips touching the cheek, the cheeks touch but never the lips if done properly. Trust me on that, at least that is the way for friends who aren't close and family. I walked across spain last year, "Way of Saint James" or "Camino De Santiago" and often was introduced to friends of people I'd been walking with and always greeted like that, was a bit scary at first especially if women as it could be interpreted as a sexually motivated action, well it wasn't and it isn't. Was very strange first time I spontaneously did it to someone I hadn't even said "hello" to yet when a person I'd only met half an hour before introduced me to these 2 japanese women. They were a little surprised too as had only started walking the past few days but surprised in a pleasent way.

The reporter here I can 100% say was not following that custom, he was going for a reaction. I have a friend I'm very close to who is female from barcelona who I also met along the way and discussed this at length as I was intrigued by the whole thing.

The reporter looked like he was getting a little too forceful. Will was jolly and welcoming before he realized the reporter's intentions. Would I have slapped him if I was Will? No, I'd have an image to up keep but the reporter was a bit out of line to be honest.
