It's a blog post from one of the magazine's writers... like an editorial from the BBC.

Even if parts of it are ficticious (which I don't believe, but I fully respect your caution... I feel the same way when reading the BBC), the fundamentals of what happened are bad enough.

Editorial's in the BBC do have bias (they generally lean slightly to the left) - it's just their news articles that don't. Do you feel cautious reading the news on the Beeb or just the editorials? I've never really seen any bias on their news articles.

My problem is that it's all been written from the side of the person being arrested. He claim's that armed men pointed their guns at his daughter and led her along at gun point, this doesn't even seem particularly likely. There is no countering point of view from anybody else and everything that he said is taken and written as fact.

Well, being a member of the University's Conservative party... I can tell you that not a single person there watches the BBC, because they feel it is biased. There is a bias in their news reporting - more about tone, and what's not being reported, rather than what is. Sometimes the bias is amazingly obvious, like during the proposed NHS reforms last year, or the tuition fee increase.

A lot of their entertainment programming has subtle hints of bias, too.

You should be glad for that, here in Brazil you basically do not have the right to walk in some places, because they are dominated by bandits. Also at anytime, anywhere you might have a gun pointed at you and be assaulted.

Schools should teach kids to fear the war on drugs as opposed to drugs. The DEA is a hell of a lot more scary than the drugs they protect us from.

Being an American, stories like this happen way too often. Even if the source isn't perfect, the fact is, these raids happen quite often.

Its sickening. You own or do something that some government official may have a slight problem with, and they can do incredibly nasty things to you. Pot and raw milk are the two biggies, but I'm sure there are a lot more.

Not really the land of the free. Home of the brave is questionable, too.

I feel like something else is going on here, or Idaho is just a super strict state. Where I live, there is a large college (kind of) nearby that has a maijuana festival. A festival where people can buy/sell bongs and people openly smoke in public. Its insane to me that those people don't get in trouble, but somehow they don't.

Anyway my point is, I'd like to hear more about the story.

yuuup drug war needs to end. But, only Ron Paul would have done that.... yet the idiots who think they are republicans wouldn't vote for the only candidate who actually runs on republican values.

A single cop house inspection is enough, not a freaking SWAT team.


And whats up with selling raw milk in the US being illegal.

Raw milk is pretty dangerous, it usually contains all sorts of pathogens and can cause people to become horribly ill.
