Forums - Sales - How much will Wii U sell in 2012?

We need to factor in two different issues - which no one have brought yet: the economic status, which is in a bad shape if you look back to 2006, which might have än impact on sales. On the other hand we haven't had new hardware for SIX years! Gamers will go nuts for sure - but we Can't expect 3 million copies sold in 6 weeks...

This economy doesn't stop people from buying Apple products though.

Around the Network

4.3 million, if it gets an early November launch. I think some of you are grossly underestimating it...

I'm guessing that how well it sells depends on how many Nintendo will have on shelves. It'll very likely face a sold-out situations, as all consoles do in their first holiday on the market.

I think 1.5 million is doable. Not more than 2 million

To early to say, but I'll go for... 1.380M

Around the Network

1,578,749

Here's my predictions.

At $250 - 2.5m
At $299 - 1.8m
AT $350+ - 1m

How do you know that? I think the first iPhone launched in 2007, yes? And already by then we had begun to see a shift in the economy, and by 2008 it was a fullblown crisis - from which we still haven't recovered from. perhaps even more ppl would buy apple's stuff if we didn't have the finacial difficulties...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Launching with compelling upgrade to Wii Sports - 3m
Launching with 2D Mario with NSMB production values - 2m
Launching with 2D Mario with decent production values - 5m
Launching without either: 1.5m

Regardess of price.

I know that because the Apple brand has never been as strong as in recent years. God knows what sick numbers Apple would have pulled off if it weren't for this crisis (or maybe they took advantage of it somehow?).

The bottom line is though that poor economy won't stop people from buying certain expensive electronics.
