Forums - General - Democrats Quiet Down Down on War as Conditions in Iraq Improve

Article on CNN

For one thing I was surprised to see this on CNN due to their usual liberal bias and not wanting people to know this stuff either.

But yes conditions in Iraq are improving, only reason why Republicans can't show it off is because for one the Liberal's control the media and they've already done a good job of tricking everyone into not supporting it by only showing the worst things they can find to make headlines.

But since the war Democrats have been pretending to not support it such as Bill Clinton just so they can draw away from Republicans for elections.

Bill Clinton Claims to Have not Supported War from the start

And then there is always the monthly deaths of U.S. troops to show which has been on a constant decline since May of last year.

Edit: Wow, just noticed the typo in the title of my threade lol.

Looking at the very graph you provided, every decline such as the one that is highlighted in red has been met with an incline so we will see......

go downdowndown! =P

No matter how you cut it, a war-zone is a war-zone, and the more soldiers there are the less likely a small group of fighters can get through defensive lines. (The "Surge")

The politicians expected the Iraqi citizens to help the United States and other forces in establishing a western government... but the citizens failed in that aspect. Such as looting their own city after the initial fall of hussein(Typo?).

(Realizes that this thread will most likely get in some political flaming. Jumps out with parachute. ON YOUR OWN!)

I've noticed that too but this decline has gone on for multiple months longer than any other decline.  Also a main point of notice in improvements is not necesarilly casualties but just the fact that things are getting back into order over there school wise and stuff.

And I'm still not sure how I managed that typo in my threade title lol, I think I paused in typing it to respond to an IM or something and then continued typing the title forgetting I had already said Down.

Yes its good to see that the deaths are declining its a shame about the thousands that have already died.

F*ck democrats and F*ck the media. This always happens, they only report the bad and never the good, hurricane season 2006 and 2007, no one gave a crap. The improvements before this, CNN didn't care. now this.

I do hope it keeps going down, start the next not hillary or edwards term on a good note.

...And in the end, who is it that shall suffer, so that we may not?

^^ I created that in a story I wrote out a long time ago. That is my personal definition of Human society.

This is a good point, I wonder how these figures would compare to veitnam or any other war we've been in. Or even those places where troops were stationed during Clinton's term.

I also wonder how much faster these rates would have fallen if we would have had media supporting the troops properly from teh very beginning, instead of putting out so much crap that the other side thought they were winning.

I may have misunderstood what you were saying but the quality of life for an average Iraqi has declined since the US led invasion. Not improved.
