So yesterday I spent hours writing a tribute to every gamers favorite Mother. In celebration of Mother's day I looked back at the series. My second article was on why Nintendo killed Mother, it looked at Nintendo's reasons and the reasons for Nintendo to reverse its decision and bring Mother to North America. As with all my work it is a wall of words and it is so large that I cannot post it on VGChartz. Instead I will link to the original article. It will explain all of the benefits and problems that would come with bringing Mother to the west. Some benefits are also seen as possible hindrances!

Why not Badgenome? In my article I say their is less then a 50% chance though I still see it as more then possible!

Nintendo has shown absolutely zero interest in it, uses stupid excuses like "oh, the music violates copyrights and we can't possibly compose a new song" and "oh, the GBA is dead, what are we supposed to do, port it to the DS?" whenever Mother comes up, and generally doesn't seem to care about anything that can't sell millions and millions of copies, which Mother can't.

Indeed. Having put it on the GBA in 2006 (in Japan of all places) should have been the indicator that even NCL doesn't care. EarthBound never went to any one of the major virtual console regions, either.

Yeah, I think they used the excuse about some of the music violating copyrights in response to requests to put Earthbound on VC.
