EA to add more DICE servers to Battlefield 3

EA has denied claims it shut down any official servers hosted by it or DICE, forcing players to play only on rental servers. “DICE is not shutting down servers,” an EA representative told Gamespot. “If DICE-managed servers appear unavailable, it is because they have been rented and customized by players. DICE will continue to add servers and will reserve a percentage of servers for players who prefer to connect through DICE-hosted servers.” Earlier in the week players were complaining that it was almost impossible to find a server to play on that wasn’t rented, and an official server searchconducted by VentureBeat found 17 EA run servers, but no servers run by DICE.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Gamers will bitch and moan, bitch and moan, bitch and moan, but at the end of the day they will then go out and buy the next EA title, Call of Duty, etc..., further enabling this stuff to go on.

Stop complaining and just stop buying their games. It is really that simple and is the only way to make things change.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I don't think you can blame us gamers for this... EA/Dice changed the rules when we already bought the game.. When we bought the game they did a good job in the beginning.. first I was playing multiplayer with half an hour matches and now I'm spending more time in 1 match then the entire singleplayer combined.. I can't go to the store anymore and exchange my copy after 6 months.. of course I'm gonna complain.. and bitch.. and moan.. so they won't pull this trick again in the future

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Wait, what's so bad about Call of Duty?
What are we "enabling" by buying this game every year?

Is Activsion screwingn people with "rented servers" or "online passes"? Are they removing content from their games in favor of Call of Duty Elite?
That answer to all of this is NO.

Activision is a SAINT when compared to EA and Ubisoft.

The worst things in this industry such as Day 1 DLC, Online Passes are NOT supported by Call of Duty. So naturally, you should support these games over ones that do, should you?

Yea the private servers are why I haven't played the game in weeks, and might not even get the map pack when it comes out. I don't want to sit and defend for 500 tickets on Grand Bazaar. It is simply unreasonable. Not to mention, if the game ever is unbalance and the offense starts off with less players in some of the smaller maps, then spawn killing the offense will take place, especially on Operation Metro and Grand Bazaar. So as much as I played Battlefield 3 and enjoyed it, really don't have too much intention of playing it until normal servers come back frequently. Fortunately Max Payne 3 and Ghost Recon Future Soldier come out soon so will have more multiplayer games.

game companies are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Nothing is every good enough, for any game of any genre. You can't please everyone. I personally don't care. I'm on rank 40 and I'm just trying to get to rank 45. So,I like the rent a server thing, because it allows me to get more points, with less games. I lose alot of rounds, but also win some 2,it's all good 2 me.

Microsoft, EA and Activision are going to take the gaming industry into a full pay to play methodology next generation for sure if you don't keep your mind sharp to how this gen is going to end. Everything will have a dollar price and if they can't get it straight out of you they'll find other ways. I really do wish it was the days of fun gaming when the Japanese ruled the industry, but I am sure that is going to take a harsh turn now.

Well of course they are. You here about all these studios going under, combine that, with the soaring production cost, then that's really not that shocking.

I haven't purchased a game from Activision in over 3 years. EA won't be seeing a dime of my money in the foreseeable future.

I have choices, and my money seems to be the only thing some publishers care about, therefore my money goes to their competitors.
