Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft to bring full Internet Explorer browsing to Xbox 360!

If it works really well, I may go ahead and buy that controller keyboard thingy.

About time. I guess MS is testing the waters now with the 360 so when they launch it on the Nextbox it will be a pretty functioning browser.

Man I would love a browser on on the 360. If it does actually come to the 360, I hope it includes flash, java, etc.

I have heard rumors about the nextbox that they will have two models one that focuses on apps and downloadable games and another that be more expensive and play full games and have better graphics, if they keep adding to the apps and features and of the 360 what else could that cheaper model offer to make me want the nextbox lite model

Nice. I'm a little confused with the one on my PS3. It seems dumbed down. Hopefully Microsoft will give full IE9, or 10 that I have on Windows 8 which would be great with 360 controller.

Yeah, the PS3 browser is hard to figure out, new windows and such. It's much easier on the Vita, faster too. I wonder how tge 360 will use IE9. They have a great opportunity to do a much better job than the other console browsers, and hopefully those voice controlls are helpful and not cumbersome.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I am highly dubious of this story. It is entirely counter intuitive based on the policies enacted by Microsoft previously. This would amount to letting the captive audience go especially if said functionality was provided freely. After all it would be far more advantageous for users not to subscribe to gold, and instead go to providers directly. To put it in other terms such a move would make Gold entirely superfluous. As compared to now where it is almost totally superfluous.

Can we be frank Microsoft charges a premium for what is free everywhere else. Seeing as they don't actually have the initiative to generate their own unique content as part of their subscription service, and instead choose to ask gamers to pay for what amounts to a crappy hub to access shit they already paid for. How is it at all likely that they will opt to do something fair, and in the process kill off their little hostage situation.

That is rhetorical of coarse. They are not going to give you an explorer at least this generation. It isn't that I'm that jaded. I would love Gold to be worth it, because Gold has things I couldn't get anywhere else, but Microsoft just hasn't shown any desire to create anything. Instead deciding to just control the access. They make Billions by just collecting tolls. Can anyone explain to me why they would give up the Gold.

It isn't that I wouldn't love the option, but I know better then to expect anything even remotely altruistic to come out of Microsoft. A web browser would only diminish the profitability of their rackets.

I think this is great news. kinect based, Internet explorer.

But personally I am happy I wont see anymore Sony fans bring up the internet browser argument...now that we will get a better one soon.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

LOL, I haven't heard that argument in a long time. Actually, I haven't seen many PS3 vs 360 at all, tbh.
