Forums - Nintendo - Pokémon Conquest Looks Cool

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm excited for a Pokémon spinoff. This crossover between Pokémon and Nobunaga's Ambition strikes me as a very promising turn-based strategy game. And I like me some turn-based strategy.

From what I've heard, recruting human warriors (read: trainers) is just as important as capturing wild Pokemon, and there's another layer of strategy tied to managing your castles so you can recuit more warriors and catch more Pokémon.

But most importantly, Pokémon Conquest looks like a fresh of breath air for the series formula. That alone is enough to get my interest.

I agree...i was very happy when it was announced for localization. Previews I've read have sounded positive (although frequently commenting on the simplistic nature of the game which i dont mind)

A fellow American exchange student friend i made while in Japan this past semester was a big Pokemon fan and bought this, so i was able to observe a good bit of it. Seems to be a stock isometric SRPG (that is, very similar to FF Tactics), but with the added mechanics of Pokemon to give the macro-gameplay some more flavor. My guess is if you're into Tactics or its ilk and like Pokemon, you'll enjoy it.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm looking forward to it as well, I'm planning to import it late this year once my backlog is reduced

I'm looking forward to it too. It looks awesome.
