But my main questions are were people expecting the Vita to sell less despite what the industry expected? Is it simply because they are two different handhelds made by different company? Is the 3DS damaging the Vita that much? Was Sony expecting the Vita to sell like this? |
A price cut will definitely give it a boost. What it really needs is big games though.
Yes, 3DS is really hurting the Vita. Belive it or not, they are competitors. Add to that smartphones and the market for the Vita is very small.

In the entirety of the interview he admits to the 3DS' weak launch and lack of games for an extended period of time. The manner in which the journalist has placed that quote basically turns all that on its head and makes Miyamoto seem like a spiteful individual.
