What basis do you think it will?  People on here thought Skyrim would also be relatively bug free, believing a new engine would make a difference, and someone even speculated that iD would be working on Skyrim also, because iD and Bethsoft are owned by the same holding company.

I'm sorry I don't understand your reasoning regarding Skyrim? I don't think that's related at all.

I think they'll continue with most of what made GTA IV great with a little more silliness in terms of variety to keep some people happy. I'm basing this off a few things, in terms of story and themes; the very topical look at the current economic dilemma in the west and the aging white male character, in terms of gameplay; using the same base engine and my opinion that the handling model was pretty perfect and the gunplay just needs some tweaking. 

I've learnt that the worst gamer is someone who dedicates his time to online gaming, the best gamer is someone who balances between online and single player gaming.

All i see in forums is hate towards this franchise. So how does it sell so well?! I thought Black Ops was gonna be a flop after all the hate-mongering that happened after MW2, but no, it outsold its predecessor. Then I said, next time around, the consumer will be wiser and so I thought MW3 would not sell as well, until I started seeing the preorders breaking records. That is when I thought to myself, I should just stop thinking because none of this makes any sense.

Whether I like it or not, COD is gonna be around for a long time. And all it takes are a few gameplay tweaks that they've done to BlackOps2 to get the masses into a single unified groin throb. Be ready for another world record.

the franchise will continue to sell, because they will continue adding "newer names" to the Call of Duty franchise, making it the next great "blockbuster game" to play.  If the games were called COD4, COD5, COD6, COD7, COD8, COD9; can someone believe that people woud buy it?......  NO.  The human mind is complex, but it is easy to trick.  If people were to see "CALL OF DUTY 10" they would say "meh, it is the same thing all over again". But that is not the case.   When Activision attaches new names, most people sees the games as different franchises, and that is what is making COD to sell so much each time.    When Halo reaches #6 people will start giving a DAMN about the game.  Look to what happend to Tony Hawk games or Guitar Hero games.

There wont be Modern Warfar 4 of Black Ops 3 next gen; it will be something like "SPACE WARFARE", in which you fight aliens, or something like that.

Although even having all evidence that shows that COD wont die anytime soon, the sucess of the franchise nextgen will depend on a big way on what titles console developers are going to release in order to showcase the supremacy of their consoles.  If 1st/2nd party launch titles for the Durango and PSOrbis, are so magnificent that put into the "Hall of Shame" most of 3rd party games, COD will die, but if not, history will repeat itself.

I don't hate COD as a game but I hate the fact that is outselling every other game by a large margin, some of which totally deserve sales like COD's. There are developers out there who put way more effort into their games and in turn make only a fraction of what Call of Duty makes.

Can I borrow your copy of Black Ops 2? I'd like to make that judgement call for myself.
