Not surprising. I expect BO2 to be the biggest COD yet and sell between 14-15 million on the 360 and around 12 million on the PS3 (as long as a million or two on the PC).

meh, god damn kids and people who only play cod being hyped up over 2009 graphics and effects with a cod story line and attitude that has been the same with cod 4.
every time i see the sales of a cod game, i tell myself imagine if underappreciated great games got these sales, we might have had bayonetta 2 or psychonauts 2.
Being in 3rd place never felt so good
Sales of COD series have started to decline though. In NPD march data MW3 was completely out of top ten and in UK it has fallen far from top ten also. Didn't happen with Black Ops so quickly.

Sadly it wont happen. GTA games are released 4 years after the previous installment, and that makes room for another franchise to take the "mass appeal perk". Call of Duty is the GTA of this generation, and it is also the "new Halo" for those who own a 360. Halo4 wont sell as much as M$ hopes to, because people are loving COD right now.
I will buy GTAV, because I enjoyed a lot GTAIV and Red Dead Redemption.
I dont hate COD, but I prefer other kind of games; and also I have to set some priorities in my gaming choices, because I am not rich XD. If I have lot of money I would buy every COD game (since black ops), because of the single player campaign (I dont give a damn about multiplayer). Even though they are short, they are really cool.

That happens because more people are buying the game near to launch date. Gamers are not waiting for a price drop, or waiting for what people says about it on the internet.
COD:MW3 has already outsold Black Ops, in a few months. People that used to buy the game quite late, already bought MW3 near launch.
So, I would say that it is the opposite. COD is getting stronger with each new release.

And the buzz I saw about Diablo 3 is that it is no longer an RPG, but an arcade loot run fest that should flop miserably and mark the beginning of the end of Blizzard, with Starcraft 2 also being a major disappointment.
Well, that is what I get when I read forums like this and ranting of people.
Why do people actually bother preordering so early for? I have bought so many games on release day and never once has it been out of stock.
So much for all that cod is in decline, console gaming is dead crap. Microsoft will soon be regretting releasing halo 4 so close to cod. Another sad year where cod will wipe the floor with the competition.

Considering the direction GTA IV went, what makes you think GTA V isn't going to continue it?

I think it will, and that's why I'm excited for it.
