Hello guys

I asked myself that question because God of War Ascention take the same path like God of War 2 did on the Playstation 2.

Like God of War 2, Ascention release nearly at the end of the current gen, so will it be able to sell more than God of War 3?

What do you guys think?

My opinion is that it will sell less than God of War 3 because games so late in the gen trending to get less sales but bigger openings.

Reasons why i think it will sell less than God of War 3

1. it release very late this gen

2. it will be to brutal and cancelled in some countries

1. Multiplayer

2. good marketing campagne

3. bigger openinmg than part 3

4. heavy bundling during Playstation 3 last years ( The ps3 may be another 5 years on thge market)

5. strong word out of mouth and good critics ( since its a Santa Monica God of War game i will 100% sure this will get awesome reviews)

6. PS4 and X Box 720 maybe release later than we think ( 2014)

7. if PS4 will be able to play PS3 games as well and so the pS4 owners will get the chance of playing Ascention on there Playstation 4 as well

I think it will sell more but not by much.

Yeah I don't see why not, GoW 3 is at 4.34 currently, doesn't seem impossible to pass.

I don't think so. It's going to have 2.5-3 less years than GoW3 will have where it's console is the premier Playstation console. I guess we'll see a GoW1/GoW2 trend here.

It'll have to have a very successful launch to counter it's later years where I think it'll slow down faster than GoW3.

I think multiplayer makes a game seem more appealing from a consumer perspective. One wants to get bang for their buck so it might come out the gate faster than GoW3, as for its legs that's all dependant upon reviews, word of mouth and whether the PS4 is backwards compatible so that it continues to sell.

possibly a bigger openeing due to the mp making the people who buy like 2 games a year have a bigger incentive to get it.

I don't think it will. Now if it had a "4" next to it then it probably would, but because it's a prequel I just don't see it happening.

I dont think this will be a reason because God of War Games always get promote with the God of War Logo and not the title but i could be wrong.

I hope it does. Although it's not a numbered sequel which sometimes has an impact on the sales. With the addition of multiplayer this may out do III due to the fact that multiplayer should increase the games legs. It'll also give the other GOW games a nice boost.
