Forums - Microsoft - Could Microsoft make a Crossover Fighter

@Sal.Paradise
What is wrong with my list? THQ has a rich history and many licensing deals with Nickolodean. They surely would find better success than Microsoft in this area. Also, they would be able to release it on a platform that appreciates the fighting genre.

They weren't the first to have a gaming camera.

The main Microsoft IP is a FPS. Halo wasn't the first console FPS.

Joyride. Kart Racer. Mario Kart.

Analogue stick - Nintendo. Dual analogue - PlayStation.

Forza was made to be a direct competitor to Gran Turismo.

Avatars were made to be Xbox's answer to Mii's

I think that's enough stuff.

No.

The fact that the first selection of possible characters on your list reads, "Avatar based games" actually screams "Hell, no".

Microsoft has no exclusive properties to warrant such a game. If they did it would have to be 90% third party with a few Xbox characters spliced in. And that would be one of the most expensive failures in history.

I am having trouble getting the pictures to paste into the reply box. I can provide you with links if you desire.
As for the Nick characters, Nintendo added 3rd party characters, so it would only be logical if THQ did too. THQ has a licensing deal with Nick, so its no biggie.

Im sure they could. More than enough characters and a history of copying, much like Sony.

you wouldn't know because people dont care when a company copies unless its SONY

so here is a few

M$ copied PlayStation with its guide button. they took the Playstation home button and called it the Guide button

M$ used analog sticks which Nintendo did 1st

M$ made a camera which i believe the Dreamcast did 1st

stuff that ONLY Sony gets criticed for

What does any of this have to with the topic at hand?

but THQ is a 3rd party developer itself isnt it?

its not like THQ has their own dedicated console so it would of course be a 3rd party game by default. now why would other 3rd party devs add their 3rd party characters to this specific 3rd party game??

@ZaneWane
We can sit here and point fingers all day at who copied who until are faces are blue in the face, but that doesn't change the fact that Sony was working on the move way before the wii was released and that Microsoft in turn copied the achievement system from Pitfall.
