Forums - Gaming - Is Nintendo preparing to dominate?

Before all else, I am an equal gamer, i own nintendo and Sony systems, had an xbox but no longer do BUT nintendo is my favorite gaming company so i may be somewhat favoring them, but non the less I having this idea that they're setting themselves up to not only dominate again in sales, but maybe even from a gaming stand point.

Maybe it's just the hype I'm feeling, but i look at the line-up for 3ds vs Vita (i want to get a vita eventually) and its just lightyears ahead right now and i dont see nintendo letting up even by the 2nd and 3rd year of the vitas cycle.

And with that, the Wii-u coming this year, i know we dont know a ton about it, but it seems very promising and it SEEMS like nintendo has a desire more so over the compeitors to go back to what they're known for, being a great gaming system (i.e. snes and n64)

Am i alone in this thinking?

1. Lightyears ahead? You mean in sales right? Because technically the Vita is lightyears ahead.
2. What do you mean? To me it looks like they are repeating the Wii strategy which worked well for the first few years but fell apart later on once 3rd party basically vanished.

It's kind of unsure but I'm glad they stopped being arrogant a bit and have listened to what the fans want and have added features that should be there in first place like the ability to put folders and patch a game..So far thier handheld is pwning the vita but the home console is a wildcard. It really depends on third parties since that's been a major problem with nintendo's home consoles since the n64

I'm not interested in Nintendo Mass Domination. To get a Wii U ASAP is enough.

Nintendo is finally joining this gen 6 years too late,

No. If their digital distribution strategy is any indication, Nintendo is simply skipping the 7th generation altogether. Everybody else will enter the 8th too late.

Are you joking? :o Nintendo is doing online what SOny was doing with the PSP for like 3 years at least. there is no way in hell the WiiU will get everything perfect from day one, when it comes to online integration, and no way in hell they wil dominate PSN and especially not XBL. The WiiU is a wildcard, and it has a chance to perform well, but DONT expect Wii-like sales, everything they are showing thus far is old tech...

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I am just curious with that last sentence?... Old tech? I know they showed ps3/360 footage on the last e3 (yet people said the footage looked worse than ps3/360)but other than that I dont see where the old tech info in coming from? Care to elaborate?
