Forums - Gaming - Is Nintendo preparing to dominate?

Before all else, I am an equal gamer, i own nintendo and Sony systems, had an xbox but no longer do BUT nintendo is my favorite gaming company so i may be somewhat favoring them, but non the less I having this idea that they're setting themselves up to not only dominate again in sales, but maybe even from a gaming stand point.

Maybe it's just the hype I'm feeling, but i look at the line-up for 3ds vs Vita (i want to get a vita eventually) and its just lightyears ahead right now and i dont see nintendo letting up even by the 2nd and 3rd year of the vitas cycle.

And with that, the Wii-u coming this year, i know we dont know a ton about it, but it seems very promising and it SEEMS like nintendo has a desire more so over the compeitors to go back to what they're known for, being a great gaming system (i.e. snes and n64)

Am i alone in this thinking?

I don't know about the home console market... Wii U is such a wildcard to me, it can do great or can fail miserably, depending on my mood. But on the portable market, yes... if Sony doesn't wake up soon! This year alone 3DS will get 2 of their biggest games released plus PSP biggest game. And Sony has nothing to counter that so far, except mystery game Soul Sacrifice.

There's much to be learned about Wii U. Don't let the hype get to you, or you may be setting yourself up for a heartbreak. That's what I say.

There's really only one game worth purchasing a 3DS for compared to the Vitas 0. I wouldn't exactly say that's light years ahead. I'd know as I own both along with over a dozen games for them a lot of which have received critical acclaim.

I think the Wii U will surprise everyone, a Mario game will guarantee it will fly of the shelves but I can see core gamers being pleased with the line up too due to newly garnered third party support. As for Nintendomination yet again this generation, maybe for a year.

Kinda hard to say that theres one game worth it, its relative to what you like, but mario kart and super mario land 3d in themselves are 2. Then there's resident evil revelations & kid icarus, and for the newer generation of gamers you have the zelda, metal gear and starfox 3d classics.

coming soon a kingdom hearts, animal crossing, nsmb2, fire emblem, project x zone, and all this known before E3, where more will be annouced.

im not tryna turn this into a 3ds vs vita thing, but so far the hype im hearing on vita is Gravity rush and some soon to be titles like lbp and a resistance.

Quality games, but will do nothing for Japan situation and barely for other countries. That's the problem, they need THE game. COD has a chance for america, but other territories are very abandoned right now in this regard.

Nintendo is finally joining this gen 6 years too late, There is little reason for the Xbox or PlayStation gamers to pick up 3rd party titles on their wii U. Mulitplats will not look or perform better on the Wii U, as we learned with the 360 and PS3 devs will code the the lowest common denominator. Plus they already have 6 years invested in achievements /trophies, and friends list. So why go with the wii U, Fist party titles. That's about it. Lol at your light years a head comment, it just not true on any level.

No. If their digital distribution strategy is any indication, Nintendo is simply skipping the 7th generation altogether. Everybody else will enter the 8th too late.

Everyone is already doing what Nintendo is promising to do. So no. They're making a 7.5 gen that wont last more than a year.
