Forums - Gaming - Music in gaming. Which songs are the most iconic or emotional for you?

@OP: Sanctuary's a good choice, but my Kingdom Heart will always belong to Simple and Clean. The scene that song was used in at the end of the game was the first time a game ever made me shed a tear.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Halo 3 never forget:

This song is simply magic,   every Halo player/fan who listen to this songs gets flashbacks to all the awesome moments they had with Halo.   Also I have friends who have passed away and who I enjoyed plenty of matches on Halo with.....I always think about them when I hear this song...it is hard not to be emotional while hearing this song...

I remember when I first beat Halo 3 and then this song came on, I felt so sad that it all was over.

I love all the Halo music, but ODST had one of the best soundtracks.

Tallon Overworld - Kenji Yamamoto (Metroid Prime)

Most emotional: The ending theme to my very first game, and still the best credits music ever

Mario Kart 64 Credits - Kenta Nagata

Wow, that's a great first game to have!

Yet I can't help but feeling a bit of pity for the fact that you didn't grow in awe from earlier generations to arrive to the N64 era. Mario Kart 64, Pilot Wings 64, Wave Race 64, Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time were a great place to arrive to as a teenager.

Don't worry, I went back and had ten years of appreciation for the classics shortly after. I still feel like I grew up on the NES and SNES.

Iconic? There's not many.

Mario's main theme.
Legend of Zelda's main theme.
Tetris.
One Winged Angel.

... That's about it.

Could potentially add MGS/FF main themes to it. Maybe Halo. There's not many though.

Now, videogame music that means a lot to me? I'd have to go with the Suikoden 2 soundtrack. Its pretty much perfect from start to finish and I have so many fond memories of that game.
