Forums - Sales - Global SW & HW Up ! (21st April)

Conegamer said:

I think you underestimate DQ. The DS version sold 2.35mil in one day, and boosted the DS by 120k WW, despite only launching in Japan that day.

Those sales make me sad now. They were so good...

I'm not denying DQ importance in Japan, just trying not to be caught in the hype.

I'm not menitoning SW, and it did boosted DS by a 154% in Japan. But, even though 2009 was already in decline in Japan, the situation was not the same. Additionally, with my 80k prediction in japan thats a 1000% increase?

pretty boring week. looking more forward to when the Ps3 has the unofficial price cut.

The Wii boost was unexpected and unexplainable IMO. Also, Disgaea 3 debuted at a lowly 69th on the charts, so quite possibly below 1,000 units. Frrom what people were saying, I thought it was supposed to be a system-seller...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Europe Up

Even with the boost, Wii numbers in the UK are just sad. Wondering if there is going to be a decent boost during the Olympics.

Vita seems to have bottomed out....

Anyway global YOY:

PS3: DOWN 18.2k or DOWN 10% (boring)
360: DOWN 23.1k or DOWN 13% (boring)
Wii: DOWN 52.2k or DOWN 42% (awful)

3DS: UP 66.1k or UP 52% (apparently this is bad!?)
PSV+PSP v PSP: DOWN 50.3k or DOWN 35% (garbage)

Total hardware DOWN 24% despite new consoles on the scene.

There are no new consoles out.

You thought wrong. I saw no hype for this game and I saw no one expecting this to be a system seller, but considering sales for Vita actually increased a bit this week, I guess it was a system-seller!

Don't really know why Nintendo is so worried about 3DS Sales in Europe. If Europe stays near America's sales then it'll do perfectly fine there.

No, I'm talking about in my, and others, Vita threads around the site. I was expecting FW sales in the EU of around 40k, and 5k in the UK at least...

European numbers are not near America's if we look at how much they shipped there. The demand is not the same.

I was basing that statement off of pure sales, not shipments.
