Forums - Nintendo - Dragon Quest X Dated for August 2

I hope to hear more about any offline capabilities. Otherwise this game could go all FFXI...

Looks amazing, not kidding! The ending looks fun as hell - as it should be!

Hmm even for a DQ title, I dont know how this is going to fly, especially in the west (most likely wont even be released, the Wii version that is)

It seems they carried over the time restraint from FFXIV to DQ X which is odd as that is a feature that angered many people for that game.

And unlike monster hunter tri, I do expect the monthly service charge to carry over for this title

I totally agree with this guy. The way SE has made this game out to be doesnt seem very appealing in my mind. I hope they "fix" a few things in the Wii U Version.

idk. While FFXI was no sales monster, it did have incredible legs in terms of being able to keep the community sustainable (and provide revenue for SE). I mean, hell, aren't there still more FFXI subscribers than FFXIV subscribers? It will certainly be less of a sales success than SE hoped if it ends up like FFXI, but it could be a revenue source to help them out for years.

From what i remember from earlier discussions, the game is offline up to a certain point, then it becomes online, though i forget how early that point is.

What worries me is a 16 GB requirement. Just how much stuff do they intend on releasing? Hell, isn't the Wii U supposed to have less on-board memory than that?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

If it's also released on the Wii U, it should do well. A million on each system is below series standards, but is great for an MMO.

Also, another massive Nintendo-exclusive coming out in August, along with NSMB2...

What HAVE Nintendo got for E3? It has got to be absolutely HUGE at this rate!

So no single player mode?

not even turnbased???

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

We don't know yet. We know that the first section is offline, at least...but if the whole game is or not is a different matter.

When did a RPG game turn into a MMO game that requires internet and monthly fees?

Granted, I haven't played a DQ game since it was called Dragon Warrior.
