Forums - Nintendo - "Operation Zero" aimed at getting Project Zero / Fatal Frame II to the US

I'm not American myself, but I figure more people should be able to play the games they want to play, so I figured I'd help spread the word.

Apparently they're doing an email and letter assault on Nintendo of America on May 14th.

What? That is it. What about other games? I want Earth Seeker in America as well Njntendo...

I assume Project Zero II is an easier target as there's already an English version being made for Europe, and as an stablised series it has more fans in the US who want to play the game.

I'm sure there's a petition for Earth seeker somewhere...

Surprisingly true. Let X-Seed do it up, Nintendo.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

As much as I'd like to see this I just don't see it happening. Even though it's a remake, the Wii's hardware is not significantly more powerful than the PS2 and debatably not at all better than Xbox on which FF2 was already released. Why would fans of the series buy the same game again, but now on Wii.

Personally, I'll buy it, but I never played Fatal Frame (Project Zero) before FF4 (English Patch) on Wii. If I owned a PS2 copy I likely wouldn't buy FF2:CB Wii either.

Unlike the trio of Xeno, TLS and Pandora which were (mostly) highly regarded JRPGs that people were dying to play (and even then it took their combined might to drive people into action) the demand for a remake of FF2 simply won't be significant enough to sway NoA.

Frankly I'm surprised this game is getting released at all (at least a 'remake' instead of a straight port) this late in Wii's life and especially after FF4 failed to make it out of Japan. Not sure why NoE is bothering either but I love them for it.

I'd certainly argue that the Wii hardware's more powerful than the Xbox.

Plenty of people bought the Wii version of Resident Evil 4 despite it not presenting a graphical leap and being essentially the same game just with superior controls. FF2 actually offers extra modes and endings over previous versions of the game as well as  overhauled visuals and camera.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the consoles. That is a developer decision.

As far as what Gamerace said. The Wii's hardware is over 3 times as powerful as the PS2 and around 2 times as powerful as the Xbox1.

The screen shots alone show huge leaps in the graphical quality. The PS2 character models had drawn on eyes, lips, hair, cloths and blocky fingers with backdrops used for baground graphics. The Wii character models had prounced lips and and eyes with detail, strands of hair, loose clothing like the strap on the girls shoulder, round fingers tips, more varied/detailed coloration and lighting, and the actual forestry.

RE4 is a far comparison but it came out at the start of Wii's life, this is coming out at the end - when interest has waned in the system in general. Even RE4 would have a hard time getting decent sales at this point in Wii's life.

However, if people want it again, who am I to argue? I'm buying it even if I have to import.

Fatal Frame II is a classic in its genre, even if it may be a niche franchise. Why would NoA not want to release this? It's not like there are any other games coming worth even mentioning, except two or three.

Even if you get a hold of the PS2 or Xbox game, you can't play them on the current consoles, I believe.
