360 will benefit from GTA4, but lacks Halo size game: slightly less then this year: 4.8 m
Wii is hard to predict, Nintendo will up production, Brawl and Kart will be enormous: 13 m

How do you figure $200 cheaper? The opening low point and current low point are $100 different, the opening high point and the current high point are $100 different. No matter how you slice it its only $100 cheaper.

How high was 2007 demand?
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Seeing these number, it is pretty obvious for me that the xbox360 sales are simply frozen. If u compare to the PS2, they should have rised by 50% (!!!)from the second to the third year that is a lot more than what they have done.
Since the situation is about the same in PAL (1 months that I m looking for these comparaison between the PS2 and the WiiPS360 using the database), I consider MS will enter in the worst period of the Xbox360 where the PS3-Xbox360 price difference is low and when the PS3 has good games.
There are 3 points that basically explain the situation, for me,
1/ Japan sales numbers are ridiculous
I dont think it will change since the JRPG of the Xbox360 are only average/good and since the famous series (Dragon Quest/FF) are not on Xbox360.
2/ PAL sales are frozen
People, like me, prefer to buy a PS3 over an Xbox360 even considering the non-PS3 bundle and the 400 EUROS price point.
PAL PS3 sales will increase and Xbox360 sales will collapse.
3/ Casual : the Xbox360 should begin to target casual gamers.
But the console is OVER-targeted hardcore gamer (see all the PC-Xbox360 exclusive that will continue to push the console in the hardcore).
In fact, the Xbox360 is not able to really reach the casual gaming market even with a low priced bundle (Xbox360 arcade).
I dont even mention that the Wii that is mainly targetting casual and is outcompetting the Xbox360 in this area.
In fact, right now, the biggest problem of MS is : The Wii

If 360 follows the same pattern as the original xbox 2008 will be its biggest year. One thing to remember about xbox is that its life was cut short, it could have sold millions more had it not been discontinued.

seems like peak is usually in year 3 or year 4. we have 2 very interesting years ahead of us....
I think end of next year it should be clear who will win/loose this time around.
