Also looked through the FortressCraft Twitter to get new information and saw a post stating that it sold between 1m and 1.1m back in April 2013.

More than likely not.
The sales are still great, but there will be a noticable drop from week 2 to week 3 and so on. There's not that much time left to catch up to the top and if there's a new free game coming out (World of Tanks for example) it will beat State of Decay quickly.
However if we're only talking about the top 10 paid games, then yes that should happen later this year.
A co-op patch/DLC (which is very likely to come) could bump the sales up permanently though.
