Tool-assisted isn't cheating - it just speeds up some bits; it's still a player manually putting in all the commands to exploit the glitches

Yes it is. People use tools to record certain gameplay and correct mistakes by reversing and re-recording gameplay to perfect the time.

The definition of Tool assisted videos is: " What if God played video games"

It's not cheating. It's abusing the game, sure, but not cheating. All those trticks may be performed on the original hardware - even though they may not (not by a human anyway).

Lame. Not legit at all.

Play the game the correct way, all dungeons, all bosses, no assisting.

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

"Welcome to Pain, the second of three...You have dealt the first...now deal with me!!"

Neat...I don't see the fun in doing it myself... but neat.

As for playthroughs, I'd call it cheating as long as you don't inform people that it's TAS.

It is legit, actually. In that you can boot up your N64 and do it without assistance. Sure, you abuse glitches, but if you didn't it'd take several hours. Not fun to watch. You must admire the skill of the player for all he does, outside of the glitches, of course...

Someone get Spurge in here. This'll help him out in 2017.

Tool assisted is cheating conegamer. I was blocked from many goldeneye 64 tool assisted Doti youtube pages because I denied their existence.

Just think of how long it would take them if they had to memorize all of these steps in the actual game without it. They would give up. Like goldeneye you have to know the exact second, where to move, where to shoot, etc

Playing without tool assist on would make that almost impossible. Yes you are still doing it, but it would not have been done without it.

Still this is really cool. Where did he get the shield? That rock he threw after rescuing hose horrible chickens?

I never said it wasn't cheating, but you'd be surprised. People DO spend hours upon hours to get the best time. The original Mario is a great example, because going that tiny bit faster is insanely captivating! (S)He buys the shield on the way to the Tree, in the shop. It's pretty insane how quickly you can do it if you expose glitches! (There's no tool-assistance here).

Damn, and I only got 24 minutes to spare! Maybe next time?

This isn't even a speedrun, It is the beginning of the game plus the final battle.

A legit speedrun can't use tool assistance and create glitches. That's not impressive at all.

Have to agree here.
