Nintendo's software is sooooo good so amazing and the Wiimote is good, but online is a disaster and that is inexcusable with the better graphics I found it next to impossible to buy third party content on Wii. With GameCube I didn't need a second console, online game play was a major bonus but not necessary and most third party content I wanted was available on GameCube. Their was only a half dozen games I wanted on the Xbox and nothing on the PS2. But this generation Nintendo dropped the ball in a major way. It became impossible to exclusively support them and the console gets only 55% of my total gaming time with 43% of my gaming time on 360 and 2% on my PS3. Where as last generation it was 85% on my GameCube, 10% on my friends Xbox and 5% on my DreamCast. So as you can see Nintendo is still my preferred console manufacturer but not by the large lead it has had my whole life. For the first time my Nintendo system barely got more play then the competitors systems! |
my head almost exploded when i read the bolded..
C'mon now, Joel
nothing??
out of all those damn PS2 games you mean to tell me that there was not even 1 game that you thought was interesting or atleast caught your attention??
nothing too serious..

Not a single game not available on Xbox or GameCube. Sadly their simply wasn't any games exclusively on PS2 I cared even the slightest about. Everyone said at the time what about GTA but I wasn't exactly a fan of GTA. Spyro and Crash were my two favorite Sony properties the loss of them devastated my support of Sony. God of War was slightly interesting to me as a rental but wasn't a franchise I had an interest in actually buying. My opinion of PS2 is it had a shit ton of shovel ware and some ports but lacked any true quality titles that I was interested in. Nintendo had all the first party content I could dream of and enough third party support to tide me over between first party releases. Xbox had all the third party support I would have any interest in and a few first party IP was interested in. But Xbox wasn't a console I was willing to justify buying. Sony can have 10,000 games and only five amazing quality titles that are must buys for me but it would lose out to Nintendo or Microsoft even if they only had 200 games but 60-70 that are amazing quality titles. Quality trumps quantity every time!

wow
I understand everything you said and all but dude, you missed out!
and i say that genuinley from the bottom of my heart lol
YOU FUCKING MISSED OUT. LITTLE DO YOU KNOW
i agree that Nintendo has always had Quality ass games on each system. I cant go a full generation with just a PlayStation and not have a Nintendo Console right beside it and I damn sure cant go a full generation with just a Nintendo console and not have a PlayStation right beside it.
there is no combination better than PlayStation and Nintendo
I owned GameCube so i pretty much played everything you played and i probably even enjoyed those games more than you did lol
I even think the GameCube was better than the Wii for the most part.
and the Gamecube DID NOT have more Quality titles over PS2. PS2 had the more quality titles in basically every genre BY MILES!! I thought everybody knew that?
PS2 had the quality AND the quantity
but i respect your opinion and your experience during the 5th gen though :)
