Forums - Sales Discussion - Vita 2012 Predicted Sales Chartz 4.08 mil

My prediction was right? I said it wouldn't sell 2 million in April and thanks to the adjustments it became true. This was actually one thing I wish I was wrong about.

Yeah the latest adjustments did no favors for the Vita. Hopefully when official Sony numbers post (I hear they are the last ones to release the official info and haven't yet) things look a little better, but having less than 2 million by April looks certain. I hope you are right about April being its worst month. May does look promising, Mortal Kombat is already receiving praise as being better than its home console big brother and Resistance Burning Skies being the online multiplayer shooter should turn a few heads. E3 is where things will pick up big time, much more than my charts are showing using hardware averages. Just about every hardware should benefit from E3 except for the Wii, but that's what Wii U is for right?

3 million in June would require 140,000 a week starting now, even with more titles coming E3 will be the deciding factor, but maybe that won't garner enough sales until the announced games actually release. My chart shows 3 million won't happen till August, but I expect July no later. The majority of Vita sales will happen this holiday, when more software is available, bigger titles, and bundles.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I'm... honestly surprised that Mortal Kombat did absoulty nothing to help the Vita. And I do mean nothing. The hardware dropped 7% this week. Mortal Kombat Vita also was outsold by it's PS3 version, includes 4 days of sale including the launch. I was probably expecting too much out of it since it is a port and a fighter on a handheld, but I was expecting this game to at least move the hardware. I think Europe also had the same effect since the UK didn't really bother with it and the hardware dropped 6% there. Hopefully, Resistance: Burning Skies will actually move some numbers, but May right now is going to reflect April.

As of now, the Vita hasn't reached 2 million, but will reach it next week. 1,977,149 right now, VGChartz numbers with this week's numbers added.

Like I said in the other thread, Resistance won't do anything for hardware, and will most likely bomb hard and have a below 55 metacritic score. LittleBigPlanet Vita is the bet after that in the west, which will probably release around the same time in Europe and America as Persona 4 in Japan, so could be a very good week (or two if they come out one week after one another) for Vita.

i´ll go with 8M

I'll adjust my prediction down to 5.5mil now. There's just over 6 months left to go in the year, and it's only sold about 2mil in roughly the same time, including launch sales and a holiday in Japan. Assuming it hits 3mil sometime in August/September (maybe October), then 2mil for the holiday period is likely.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
