Forums - Nintendo - Official Fire Emblem: Awakening thread- European DLC 16/5 out now!

Welp, I have finally maxed out every mainline Awakening character (Which yes, includes having Limit Breaker on each and every one of 'em). @_@

Crossed 200 hours of playtime on this save file as well. Think I've finally overdone it.

And yeah, Future of Despair is the most interesting DLC map pack yet. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Limit Breaker on ever character? That's just insane. I'm probably only going to get it for all my streetpass team, but not for the rest of the characters, just like I did with +2 stats skill from Champions of Yore.

The DLC calendar for EU is really piss poor. We'll have to wait till the end of the month to get Infinite Regalia and the rest of the Scramble pack, but no word when the other DLC will come out .

Attempted the last Paralogue (23 I think) and man it's a bit much. Sure you can use up to 30 units, like I have that many good ones atm, but the enemy has 50 dudes that are all comming at you at once, not in small groups at a time like in other 50 enemy maps. That makes gangbanging inevitable, and that sucks as they all have forged weapons, with the physical attackers being able to do 20-30 dmg each round against mah flyers. Plus the map is mostly an empty plain, so there not many places to hide.
Anywho, my plan was to use the apparitions in the middle of the map to divide their army and minimize the gang banging, while having tanks cover the left gap between the apparition and also letting some of my flyers capable of one rounding come out from behind the apparitions, pick off some dudes, then fly back to safety. Atleast that was how it was suposed to go down, but of course when I sent out Maribelle to do a hit n run on the boss, he got off Sol and landed a hit, both of which only had a ~50% chance of happening, and so he survived with 1 HP...
I decided I would come back to this mission later after everyone has better magic weapon levels since most of the enemies are vulnerable to it moreso than physical attacks.

So I went over and took on the challenge maps! All the enemies here also have forged weapons letting them hit like trucks, but they didn't all zerg rush me at once, and there certainly wasn't 50 of them so I figured they'd be managable. In the first one, Death's Embrace, thanks to all them spikes putting everyone's HP to one, my flyers being flyers were able to kill a number of enemies before they all converged at the healing spot in the middle of the map during the first turn. From there, I left a group in that spot to deal with the majority of reinforcements, while sending other groups to the right side of the map, mainly focusing on the bottom corner. That way I was able to pick off the boss before he could escape, then run out of range of the real boss, being that risen with all the glowing eye skulls on him. Then I swarmed him to death, and from there just had to eliminate a few more stragglers until victory!
Five-Anna Firefight was by far the easiest map of the three for me. 80% of the playing field is lava? Not a problem for the Wings of Justice! (mah streetpass team name :P) I was able to reach the islands on both sides and take care of most of the enemies there before they became an issue. Then I cleaned up the rest on the second turn. Not much more to say here hehe.
In Roster Rescue, I was worried I wouldn't be able to reach the giant risen in time thanks to them annoying walls, but they eventually opened up a nice path that let me kill them then run away to minimize gangbanging. Again not much to really say here, except that those treasure chest contained complete jank. Considering the difficulty of this mission I'd think there'd be better items but ahwells.
So great fun all in all! I think having an all Flying team made these maps a lot easier than they really are, especially Five Annas, but hey, tis simply the awesomeness of an all flying squad. ;)

Just did the Paralogue mission where you have to save Tiki...and that was quite difficult. Non of the enemies attack you but keeping Tiki alive was hard, I manage to do it on my first try but Tiki only survived with 5 hp. Can't wait to do that mission on lunatic

Enemies will attack you, if you block the way to Tiki. Basically, you have to build a wall around her. Enemies will attack if you block their way, but won't specifically seek out your weakest units.

   UHU
UMTMU
 XUAUX
   XUX
     X

U = unit, H = healer, M = mage, T = Tiki, A = avatar, X = spots where enemies will land and attack Us, Ms and A in reach. Avatar equipped with a tome and using rainbow rally every turn, healer using a physics staff to heal if necessary, the two units on the back using whatever rally skill they have, two potent promoted mages (or archers), five units that are capable tanks. It's surprisingly easy on hard difficulty, not sure if that will work on lunatic (might require pair up). All units sticking so close together not only makes rally skills very effective, it also means that support bonusses stack like mad and most of the time you aren't getting hit.

Not an option to not use Pair Up for those around Tiki on Lunatic (unless you do this late game with OP units).

For me its just paired up units completely surronding her.  Healer in the back with Psychic, and decent units on either side of her with a tank in front of her.

Then I have some units by themselves near the enemy spawns (1 South, 2 East, and 1 West).  Enemies rush for Tiki and will pass those units by themselves.  These units usually have effective attacks against the wyverns/griffons/pegasus (bow/wind magic/falchion).  They attack any enemies with ranged attacks.  Only 2 ranged attackers will appear at max on the Right and South but on the final reinforcements 3 will appear on the left.

Avatar the last alone unit that stands out from the group in the middle that catches whatever ranged unit couldn't be killed.  If any enemy is to be allowed to hit Tiki, let it be a Wyvern as they won't double her (but she will only survive with like 2 HP).

Haven't done it on Lunatic but whenever I tried this map after my initial failure I just built a square around Tiki with maybe a space or two between Tiki and the units surrounding her. Tried to get those with supports with one another close by but have one healer with a range weapon roaming in the back that heals units when they take damage. Best way to avoid Tiki taking any damage and stop the waves of enemies that were approaching.

When I attempted that mission, at first I also failed miserably mostly because I wasn't expecting the amount of units that are thrown at Tiki and I had positioned my units on the Forests surrounding the central area. While I manage to take out a great number of enemy units, eventually they came faster than I could take them out and they swarmed Tiki.

Afterwards I just 300dred around Tiki, leaving a space between the formation and herself to avoid those 1-2 range units and it was rather easy.

Lunatic is garbage difficulty. It seems like pairing up Frederick with either Chrom or the avatar is the only viable strategy to get through the first few chapters, so you basically end up with only two viable units before the ability to summon spotpass teams becomes available. Now I basically have to grind levels for everyone but Frederick and Chrom for a while. Even that might be a challenge, because level 1 Alja's team can hit just as hard as the enemies in the first few chapters.

At least money won't be an issue, thanks to the 10,000 gold from renown rewards. I can't buy anything but copper weapons anyway.

Once you get used to it, Lunatic isn't bad.  And that stratgey is true for most hard mode FE's at the start.

Lunatic+ however, that's garbage difficulty.

There's a lunatic+? Man that's going to be interesting.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Yeah, I'm looking forward to Lunatic.

Hit 35 hours on my Awakening Hard run and running out of things to do. How did you manage Smeags? o.O

Only 35? Mine's at 90 now, but I have almost half of all the support conversations done as most members of my team are at 250+ rating (excluding Tiki, Flavia, Basilio and Say'ri).
