Swapnote. Flipnote is coming soon though. ^_~
Having a Sorcerer with Counter is surprisingly....satisfying
.
Funny that Laurent gets the Barbarian class tree, that bulky Warrior character model with Laurent's face and hat made me laugh a lot.
Counter and Vengeance make for a heck a pair.

Yeah, been experimenting with it myself. At base attack number (x1 for forged Rexcalibur and x2 for forged Celica's Gate), the latter always does 85% damage of the former, per hit, for a total of 170% damage vs 100% damage |
Mountain Village/Paralogue 20 and Mount Prism/Chapter 24 have all the Waste you'll ever need.

Anyway, I'm currently on Chapter 14 and I'm recruiting the sons of the characters I make them married. Really love that mechanic it opens so many possibilities. |
There's different bgms that play during battles (your turn aswell as enemies turn) so you'll have to be a lil more specific. You wont have to stress over this though as once you beat the game you'll unlock a unit gallery where you can listen to any of the games awesome tracks.

Have to hold on till then. Haven't moved from Chapter 17 since I stared getting the 2nd gen characters.
If people thought that Nos/Aversa's break the game, what about a 50 Luck Armsthrift Sage using Goddess Staff? Free Full HP healing each turn FTW!. Seriously, the combinations in this game are astounding.
Nvm, armsthrift doesn't work for staffs
. Thankfully, my saving OCD saved my goddess staff

Counter is good for mid-game, starts to lose its edge late game tho.
The more damage you take the better it is, but since late game you should have decent defenses it loses its flair.
Unless of course you have low base defenses, like my Berserker Vaike. With only 34 Def, and 22 Res he gets hit hard on Lunatic.
With this skill set its even better: Axefaire/Counter/Wrath/Gamble/Sol. If he was able to get Vantage.........so beast.

Heh, I'm betting the only reason they made it so Armsthrift doesn't work with staves is because Hammerne exist. That would give all your weapons for all characters infinite uses and make shops obsolete!

Not that previous FE games had a perfect difficulty curve at all times, but finite resources made the entire experience much better than Awakening's approach. |
Quite, over grinding kills the game's diffuclty. I won't lie tho, I grind all my planned characters on Lunatic about 5 levels after Chapter 4 from the DLC cause of relying solely on Chrom/Fredrick at the start.
But for some reaon people feel the need for their characters to maxed out as soon as possible.....
Even on Normal : /

That's a pretty good skill set, guarantees you self healing and has a lot of crit potential.
I've rarely used Counter myself, and I was renitent on getting it for Laurent, but I saw it's potential as a deterrent for any melee unit that tries to approach him as a Sorc. If they don't kill Laurent off (which is hard, since Sorcs have moderate damage reduction), his next attack turn will be powered up by Vengeance, which will definitely kill the attacking unit. Since I also roll around with Lifetaker, it'll mitigate the damage and start a new sequence of Counter -> Vengeance/Lifetaker.
