PS4 might give us what we were promised with PS2, but you know Sony will patch it out with firmware twelve months later.

Oh, how could I forget THAT gem?
Around the same time, I was working with a bunch of trainee software developers, and one piped up one day that the PS2 was so powerful that it was dangerous to society. Upon asking why, the response was "Because encryption is 128bit and so is the PS2. Therefore it can crack encryption!" He looked so dead serious about it, too.

It reminds me of last gen. Back then, the big thing was polygon count. Sony and Microsoft both tried to outdo each other by posting the theoretical maximum for their systems (non-textured, no shading/AA etc.), whereas Nintendo released a "Polygon count under average graphical conditions". Of course, it took a microsecond for the uninformed to jump on the "Wow! That number is so low compared to PS2 and Xbox!!!" train.

But seems that nothing has changed and it will never do that either as there will always be the young ones and the ignorant grownups

Because they have seen the light. But honestly, you shouldn't mind him too much. He has already paid dearly for it, literally. He bought Move and Vita since he doesn't fall for Nintendo's hype anymore. @kitler53: When you realized that Nintendo doesn't need to be the only company you buy from, you should have switched to a flexible approach instead of only buying Sony products from that point onwards. Consoles aren't like girlfriends; there's no harm in playing with more than one at the same time. |
well i already had a wii, 360, DS when i bought my ps3. 3DS and vita were the only systems since my ps3 i could even purchase without going into previous gens. unless you count smart phones in which case i bought 2 - both apple.
