I am glad that you are just pretending to be an idiot.

...

A general question seems to be appropriate at this point: Is there actually anyone who is interested in discussing the actual topic of this thread?

and what's the topic?? making a Ratchet and Clank game would make it more popular than Ratchet and Clank??

and I'm sure if you pasted Mario to his face the game would be more popular

i don't get it.  mario galaxy was a rip off of ratchet and clank to begin with...

This. But Nintendo is always the original one, we shouldn't talk about this.

Mario Galaxy came out in 07 when did Ratchet and Clank come out? I mean both systems came out in 06 so if ratchet and clank came out in 06 and Mario Galaxy had been in development for 2+ years how could it be a copy? Did they change the games design in the last months before showing it at E3 06? When did they first show Ratchet and Clank for PS3?

I need an explanation

Ratchet and Clank was a PS2 franchise first. The first one came out in 2002, but it wasn't until the second one (Going Commando) that they introduced spherical worlds (2003).

Oh ok then that explains it. I thought the idea of spherical platforming was first done on PS3

well they are not rip-offs by any means. on N64 Mario stepped into the 3D world with Mario sunshine, and i think Spyro the dragon and Crash were on PS1.

then came R&C, and J&D on PS2 with another Mario game in the same vain, but since the creators of each franchise were already creating  games in a 3D world you really couldn't say either is a rip-off, unless you look at it in the fact that R&C takes place on many different worlds, or planets.

if you look at it like that, then Mario Galaxy could be looked at as a rip-off.

The topic is if it would be a good idea to make a Ratchet & Clank game that is centered around smaller planetoids in order to revert the decline that the franchise has experienced in recent years.

they've already  done that..... last generation

what decline? seems normal to me considering the install base on ps3

What decline? They've always sold around 2-3m and still do. All 4 One doesn't count in the same way a 3D mario isn't compared to a 2D one (well, except by you and Happydolphin).

Here are the numbers.

The PSP game Size Matters was heavily bundled, so let's ignore it. The five games in #2-6 show a decline with each subsequent release with the latest entry, A Crack in Time, sitting at 1.58m.

now go look up the sales trend on the ps2 titles and then note the install bases of the two

Rather than copy Galaxy and compying itself, if they want to bring R&C to the next level they should make it a Move game with pointer function, make the game more fast-paced, add weak points on enemies, for MASSIVE DAMAGE.

Except it wouldn't be copying because .

Copying => they already did spherical worlds. I haven't meant copying in a bad way (plagiarizing), simply they did it already, as you stated. The main point of the post was "do something else instead".

i knew i would need that word pretty soon:

It would be Sony's "Answer" to Super Mario Galaxy

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Look at this screenshot of Super Mario 128, the "beta" for Mario Galaxy, released in 2000

Yeah, in other words "is Ratchet and Clank a PC game?" Miyamoto
