I call it a rite of passage.

I actually only started to really look at the level of the "targeted" enemy after 10+ hours. Before that it was more try and error, which made some battles rather qucik and unpleasant. And running away is one of the most useful skills in this game...

Somehow it is shocking to play with Shulk / Melia / Riki. Very different playstyle and I get beaten a lot...

I'm excited to see that you are playing Xenoblade now... Such a great game.

I like playing Melia / Shulk / Riki OR Dunban / Shulk / Riki. And then I replace Riki with Sharla when I get desperate for heals. I generally only play as characters that I can do significantly better than the AI (which is never Shulk)..

Also, my favorite areas in the game are.. The tree city (I would love to live in a tree...), and a stage on a mountain that I don't want to spoil for you yet. The music for that latter stage is amazing.

( I drew this based on that latter stage because I loved it so much.) /shamelessplug

Nice drawing! Is that Bafalgar Pedestal by any chance?

Also, I prefered Riki to Sharla for heals...but that's just me. The best areas are Bionis' Leg, Eryth Sea, Fallen Arm and Agniratha. Though the vast majority of areas were great fun.

I currently play as Shulk / Dunban / Riki. This combination is rather good, imo. I tend to upgrade healing powers quite qucikly, so Riki has some good skills in that area. Also, since he is the only real, named hero in this game, he has to be in the group for serious heroponing.

I call it a rite of passage.

The caterpillar wasn't s*** to me.

The lizard king in the marshes? Different story!

The one in the castle. Yeah. I needed a great many levels on him...

It's always great fun. I did it whilst a level below it because I managed to lure a few away at a time. Tricky but fun.

For the rescue mission or for getting up to the roof? For rescue I used the backdoor, the other one I still have to do.

Really started running from that spider on bionis leg though, that thing was scary.

I am actually at about 25 hours, level 35 and still before the final boss in the forest. Is the game really that long or am I just way too slow?

No, the game is easily 100 hours unless you really haul ass.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

You're on a good pace. Not too fast, not too slow.

I mean just going in to kill them for the sake of killing them. Because I'm evil.

You're on a good pace as well.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The Forest is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever come across anywhere in a game before. Also, the giant tree is one of the homely feeling (despite being massive in size) and creative town locations ever. I want to have a summer home there!

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

You have not seen the last of the spiderfolk.

Got to the lake district and am a bit underwhelmed from it. Somehow it is just not as beautiful as the forest or the swamp.
