You still don't know. vliw5 is older than vliw4, with vliw4 only used in 6970-6950 and trinity, and all the other cards older than GCN are vliw5.

I know but my point was that the hd 7670 is about 9 or 10 times as powerfull than the 360's xenos

I wouldn't say so. I'm more inclined towards the 4x to 6x range, based on specs and architectures.

yea, with less AA though afaik

Where did you see that?

hmm..

I thought I read that on a german website, but I looked it up again and it seems they just used the newer FXAA instead of MSAA. It's way less taxing on the GPU and might even provide superior results - I just compared them and this years demo actually looks less aliased to me.

FXAA is an intelligent approach to the aliasing problem, but it has a big problem, blurriness. It works on everything, polygon aliasing, shader aliasing... but it also makes textures blurrier. As all the low frequency pass filters, it kills the high frequency information, and texture sharpness is high frequency information.

I base my estimation on the fact that the hd 7670 has 10 times more stream processing units combined with newer features and a more efficient architecture.

Theres another demo from this year?. Im gonna see if i can find it, but if i can't can you post a link to it here?.

it's the same demo, just using a GTX 680 instead of 3x GTX 580 and with some performance tweaks and FXAA instead of MSAA

I see, so that's the trade off for having better anti aliasing results with less stress for the GPU.

7670 has 480 stream processors, Xenos has 240 stream processors (48 5D units) so only 2X in this.

Thanks :D. Using MSAA or FXAA both look great to me and i couldn't really see the difference :D

If you want to know more of FXAA you can read the blog of the guy who developed it:
